If you are replacing the factory tach just remove the instrument cluster, take the lens off from it and install the new tach and re-assemble the dash. If you are installing an aftermarket tach just mount it where it is easily viewable such as the A-piller or on top of the dash, and follow the instruction sheet where to hook the wires to. Ussually there are 4 wires, a switched 12 volt source, a ground wire, an illumination wire that is hooked into your dash light circuit and a tach feed that is hooked into the ignition circuit under the hood.
