I had 4 hours of English language per week, yet plenty of people my age (espedcially men) are terrible at language and deliberately mis-spell. We use our language ion everything we do almost, so there is no need to over-do it.

This is one of those questions where some people pretend to be perfectionists, and look for any obstacle there is so they can then declare the idea wrong.

jizzi - I'd forgotten to mention that point about the test/qualification. Exactly right. If people are scared continually of the behaviour of others, why should society rely on the failing poilce?

libbyft - right, but don't bring on the battle of the sexes. It is intended to disrupt people. Traditional roles made sense until the powers that be encouraged people to lie about them.

I also think they should and do a test at the end and if they do not pass then they should not be allowed to breed!
And if they are stupid enough to breed, that child should be taken off them at birth until they pass the test!

When I was at school we used to have to do a child care course! (This was the 80's!) It was a part of the old fashioned Home Economics classes and basically girls were being taught to be good little housewives. However when I had my son there was not one useful thing from that class in my head - except maybe how to fold a terry nappy!!

But if someone could find a way to show kids how totally life changing the responsibility of parenthood and running your own home is then it should be taught in schools!

I know what you mean about English Language too. We all had to do it yet still loads of people left school unable to read or write! The majority of people do okay tho! even if we do misspell a few words here and there!!

being a bad speller doesn't make you a bad parent. My dad isn't very book smart and didn't help much with homework, but he was in construction and I can remember my dad always working hard and then coming home and spending time with us kids. Shouldn't you be blaming bad grammar and spelling on the school system?

As to the other idiotic people who think you have to pass a test to "breed", you really need to get a life and learn what being a good parent is all about.

What is the point of your question. You ask if parenting should be taught to kids and then go to talk about language.

The responsibility of being parents should be taught at schools but not until the person is nearing the end of their school life, any younger and it would be considered useless information. English and maths should not be cut back as they are subjects which are needed throughout life.

I believe it should be taught when children enter secondary school, maybe if they got some experience with children/babues they would think twice about getting pregnant so young. It would dispell any myths about babies being adorable 24/7 and easy to care for.

What does parenting classes have to do with English classes?
We use our language but not very clearly in your case. I really am confused.
If people of you age DELIBERATELY mis-spell it has nothing to do with being terrible at the language, but more something to do of having a need to change the language to suit their needs or even laziness, disrespect or ignorance.

I don't understand what parenting has to do with misspelling but I agree with you in both cases.

I know many of you would never agree with me but so many people out there should be asked to pass a test before having children.

As for bad spelling...I rest may case. I think its sad...

What are you asking? Parenting or English or what? Your grammar is a little shaky.

Your question is unclear. Can you try again and be more specific with what you are asking.
