There are many things I wouldn't want to live without such as extra diapers, wipes, swing, my sling but the #1 thing I couldn't have lived without is a support system of friends and family. They really were helpful with answering questions, taking the baby or toddlers for a few hours so I could nap, bringing in meals and cleaning house when I was on bed rest. A real blessing for my whole family!

My husband. He's not a thing I know, but without his help, love and encouragement, I would have been lost as a new Mom. Having a support system is so important. A thing I couldn't live without would have to be my boppy pillow.

I cant remember the name for it..but the little seats that vibrate..and the swings that hang from the door frame..when they get a little older ofcourse...but I could hang my son in the door way and he loved being able to move around and play with the dogs..and I could cook or clean..he was between the kitchen and living room..and while I was doing that stuff I could see him with no problem (always right infront of me) and didnt have to worry about him

A sling and our co-sleeper. I had to bypass purchase one while he became some days previous by using fact it helped ME sleep (extremely than getting up 12 circumstances a night just to look over and determine he became respiration. I even have a chum who's son died from SIDS, so i became quite paranoid while my son became born). We had the type that is going interior the mattress, yet with this infant (i'm 24 weeks) i would be getting an palms attain co-sleeper-- my son nonetheless on occasion crawls in our mattress interior the process the night (he does no longer sleep with us, yet on occasion wanders in while he wakes up interior the process the night for a cuddle), and that i do no longer desire him to experience there is not any room for him b/c of his sister.

A jumper you hang at the top of the door way
The exersaucer. You put baby in the middle of this toy and there are toys all around it.
The bouncy chair so I could take showers without worrying
breast-feeding pads for the bra
bottles
wipes and diapers
a pacifier but only for when she slept.
and pots and pans for her to explore.

What moms can't live without is their baby. It extends into later life. I know, I'm a very old baby now and Mom will not give up on me ;-)

Before anyone goes all capitals on me, let me explain my answer.
The thing I always thought new mothers and fathers should be issued with their baby-care items is earplugs.
OK--the why? When a baby cries, the decibel level is HIGHER than a jackhammer. Put in plugs, and you will be able to hold your child in a much calmer manner. It's unbelievable how well they helped for the first two months, when my son grew to 17lbs. 2oz. and was hungry literally every 10 minutes.
He never cried after two months, until he was six months old. It scared his dad and me so bad, we took him to the hospital. He fell asleep on the way.

Stroller-I couldn't carry my baby carrier to the car without it after my cesarean.
The cages that keep all your baby bottle parts together when you put them into the dishwasher.
The microwave. For heating formula and babyfood (and frozen dinners after my cesarean so I didn't have to cook!)
The bouncer seat. Cured our baby of acid reflux, and allowed me to sit her up and look at her when I couldn't actually hold her.
Zutano booties (available on babycenter.com , among other places)...the only booties that are warm, comfy, and STAY ON!
Infant's motrin.
Board books. Made my daughter brainy.
Dr. brown's bottles. My baby NEVER spit up once in her life.
A good husband. If it wasn't for him, I would be a WRECK!

I didn't have one myself, but I baby sat for someone who did, but a bottle warmer. It was a life saver! Every new mother should hve one since it is not good to put breast milk in the microwave and tap water takes to long along with boiling the water!
