My thought is how illogical is it okay to kill a baby moments before a naturally birthing mother is going to push it out? But it's a crime to kill the same baby 1 minute later just because it came out of the vagina?

Has anyone seen an abortion performed this late on audio and video? People who have said they were horrified by what they saw and heard.

I disagree with abortion no matter when it is performed. As soon as the woman is with child, she has a living being in her. It would be cruel to murder a baby, but even more so to muder one that can't defend itself or let its murder be known (kick, punch, cry, yell, e.t.c.). If all you ladies out there reading this understand me, give that unborn baby a chance at life. if worst comes to worst, you can put it up for adoption where it will find a kind and loving mother and/or father.

First, abortions performed that late in pregnancy are not only extraordinarily RARE but BY LAW, are illegal unless the health or life of the Woman is in jeopardy.

Second, technically, a child ISN'T a child until it is born alive. And, if you want to be extraordinarily technical, a child isn't a child until it has successfully reached two years of age. Prior to that time, it is technically a neonate. Prior to birth it is a fetus. Upon successful completion of a live birth, it is a neonate. We don't call miscarriages or stillbirths children within the medical field.

Third, the reason it is protected by law after a successful birth is because it is no longer physically dependent upon the Woman's body. After birth, ANYONE can take care of it but before birth only the Woman, herself, must sacrifice for it. Before birth, the law views the fetus as a part of the Woman's body because it cannot live without her, much like her liver, arms, and other body parts. By birth, however, it is developed enough to live on its own and the Woman is no longer required to sacrifice her body for it.

Fourth, don't discount the changes that occur at birth that allow the neonate to begin the processes that will lead to continued survival - breathing, brain functioning, digestion, etc. The intoduction of oxygen at birth causes a long list of changes without which, the fetus would actually be a stillbirth. Being pushed out of the vagina and surviving that is much more than just a symbolic beginning.

People can think of their pregnancies however they wish. If you want to think the fetus is a child or baby, you are free to do so. If another Woman does not, she is free to do so. If you want to keep the pregnancy at all costs to your health and life, you are free to make that choice. If another Woman does not, she is free to make her choice. THAT is the crux of this issue. Personal, private medical and family decisions should be made by the people directly impacted by them, not by strangers and certainly not by agenda driven politicians.

Peace,
Jenn

apparently they are legally alive at 20 weeks of pregnancy, because my baby was 18 weeks and i got hit by a car and they didn't give him a death certificate because he was 2 weeks too young. As to your question, i believe that is the most heartless thing i ever heard. i don't think any baby should be aborted unless to leave it in there would injure or kill the mother. so many people want to adopt there's no excuse for murdering children. I never heard of them killing babies right before birth wouldn't that be illegal?

I disagree... I'm 21 weeks pregnant If I poke my belly the baby pokes back.. he has sleep patterns and responds to outside noises even my voice. I'm for abortion only in the first 10 weeks from LMP or 8 weeks development while the "baby" is still a embryo.

My opinion is that any would-be human life deserves the chance, but sometimes its not that simple.
I think that the time when the baby/fetus/whatever becomes self-aware, It should be given the right to live, unless the mother is in risk of death for having that baby.

Doctors have demonstrated that a fetus has an audible heartbeat at 8 weeks in utero. You'd think that would make a person re-think the idea of abortion, but people do it anyway. I don't understand it myself. Abortion or infanticide. Sad, either way.

Where would you have seen 3rd trimester abortions? Why even bring them up?

Your "straw man" argument is empty.
Your pathos is vulgar to most people.

I don't even want to think about that, it is so disgusting. Of course a child is a child while in the womb.
