I don't know if you CAN or not. I do know that I could. I am bigger than the animal in question and I have two hands. Therefore I could hold the animal with one hand and pour perfume on it with the other. That is the answer to the question you asked. I don't think that is what you want to know. I am assuming your concern is for the well being of the hamster if you do put perfume on him/her.
I do respect the answers of the others who have posted above me and would probably refrain from doing it myself but consider this: The laboratories that develop the makeup, soaps, shampoos, perfumes and other personal product do extensive testing prior to releasing them for retail sales. Those test take the forms; among other things, testing on laboratory animals. Lab rats and the like are exposed to the product before any human testing is attempted. So based on that alone, I would say that small amounts of perfume would probably be perfectly safe for your pet.
Keep in mind that I don't have hamsters, have never had them and in no way claim to be an expert. I am simple using common sense and some knowledge of how laboratory testing is accomplished. Of course, refraining would undoubted be safe but I really doubt that the scent will harm the animal.

You should not. Most perfumes or shampoos say "Not tested on animals" so you shouldn't take the chance. You don't know if it is going to hurt them. You should not put perfume on hamsters because it irritates their nose. You also shouldn't use perfumes or strong disinfectant (pine sol, windex, etc) when you clean their cages either... You can occasionally bathe hamsters with regular soap if you would like. Though, don't be surprised if they don't like it, because they aren't water animals.

No- i wouldn't try it. Even if the perfume has an 'animal tested' label, it doesnt mean it was made for them. Hamsters like the way they smell-it would probably confuse them.

I'm not sure I put perfume on my little brother when I was three and he was a baby. Mom got upset but he didn't stink for a while!! I wouldn't do it on a hamster, not with all this Micheal Vick stuff going on!!

I wouldn't do it, as much as your hamster may stink, just give it a bath with pet (small rodent) shampoo. Putting perfume on your animal could cause breathing problems, or hurt their eyes or even skin!!

DONT! If you spray perfume on the hamster its probably bad because lick it off when they groom and you wouldn't want that perfume in the digestive system...

Um... no. Perfumes can make your animal sick and/or burn their skin. If your animal smells, give it a bath.
The closest thing to perfume my girly rats wear is scented baby/kids shampoo (tear free) during their bath, and sometimes the smell lingers. Don't over-bathe your pet though... it'll dry their skin out. I wash my girls about every 3 weeks.

They do make perfume for dogs and cats, but I think putting perfume on ANY animal is ridiculous.
On a hampster, its cruel. It'll lick it right off and probably kill it.

I wouldn't risk it. If you have issues with bad smells, there is a product out there called "Clean Critter", and you can get it either in spray bottle form or in wipes. These are especially made for rodent pets and won't hurt them, they are baby powder scented. I got mine from PetSmart, but other pet stores might have them too or a similar product. This one works really nice! I've used it on my rats.
