Your hormones cause A LOT of things to happen to the body.. It can raise the levels of oil in your skin.. Make your hair fall out or grow differently.. Shifts in your homones, can cause mood swings, irritability, nausea etc... Especially for woman when they get their menstrual cycle. That area is controlled by the pitulitary gland and the thyroid..Which is why during your "period" you may experience acne. Also, touching your face with dirty hands can spread acne as well as popping, poking and squishing zits.. ! Blah.. If you wash your face with a mild acne soap 2x a day and use a toner such as witch hazel which does NOT contain alcohol that should help any acne problem...good luck

Hormone regulate the sebum produced in the body. In puberty when the hormones kick in, so does the sebum, and clogs pores that the body protects by becoming infected.
That's why people love to pop zits, it's a natural instinct to rid the body of infection any way it can.
Beat your body to formation of the pimples and don't pop them. That causes a wound that is also suceptible to infection.

you get an acne because of excessive secretion of sebacious glands - these are oil glands, that could give you acne, in preventing it start from getting rid of too much oil in your skin, probably ask a dermatologist of what to apply regarding its prevention..:)
