Why didn't Jesus preach Paul's gospel of sacrifice for sin at the Sermon on the Mount. Instead he chose to preach "God forgives us when we forgive others."
And after the crucifixion, we were taught that the old covenant was replaced by the new covenant. That would have been the perfect opportunity to preach sacrifice for sin, since the change JUST HAPPENED. Did Jesus forget to talk about it?
Did Jesus miss out on two great opportunities to preach Paul's gospel of sacrifice for sin?

Not my call, Jesus knew what he was doing. However, I can tell you that, as a teacher, it is better to focus on one topic at a time when teaching something. Jesus had more than one point he wanted to share with people. If I tried to teach my students everything I know about marketing in one class session, they would be confused (and exhausted) before I could finish...instead, I break it up into smaller "chunks" of information. Jesus may not have preached sacrifice for sin the day he gave the sermon on the mount...but he did talk about it during other "sermons" (messages) he gave.
I can understand why someone might think the sermon on the mount was a "perfect opportunity" to discuss this topic, but I accept that he didn't talk about it at that time for a good reason. I don't pretend to understand all of God's reasons for the way he presented different information to us. Perhaps there is a distinction between earthly and heavenly consequences...perhaps Jesus died to forgive the eternal conquences for disobedience and we're commanded to forgive others to earn God's forgiveness for the earthly consequences. ...or perhaps forgiving others is the way that we "prove" our belief and acceptance of the sacrifice for sins...after all, how can we claim that God has forgiven us for our sins and then claim that someone else's sins are "unforgivable"?

This is a first! Someone criticizing Jesus' methods of preaching. Since he was both God and man, I think I'm going to leave it up to him to know what was best.

first of all Paul came after and it be hard for Jesus to explain that before his death..... while Paul's point is a very important point...Jesus knows best... and forgiveness is something that we all need to understand about being a disciple.... in order to forgive our sins... we need to forgive others as well.... if you don't understand that then it's hard to understand the sacrifice of sin....

Jesus said that when He is lifted up, he will draw all man to him. Signifying what death He would die.
So? Don't you think the message of the cross is the message of sacrifice for sin?
