Keep in mind that she won't be able to chew anything, so even some soft foods like canned fruit or pasta salad won't be appropriate. The best thing you can do is get a variety of food in cups, like applesauce, pudding, yogurt, jello, etc, which all come in little cups, and other people can enjoy them. There are also bigger containers of pudding and applesauce if a lot of people will want some. The other thing she can have is liquid food, like Yoplait smoothies or juice, anything that she can drink without a straw (so no really thick smoothies).
However, I strongly suggest you ask her if she really wants to go and make sure she knows that she can choose not to go. Some people recover faster than others, but when my wisdom teeth were out the first week was miserable for me. I was on a lot of vicodin and still in pain, and I would not have wanted to go out anywhere.

Hummus on very soft bread. Chilled soup. Melon. Noodle/macaroni salad which needs to be cold and probably NOT made with a vinaigrette. Deviled eggs (chilled of course).
Avoid hard things, acidic foods, or temperature extremes at eating time, no straws due to injuring the clots, and :) probably nothing will taste good so don't expect compliments; the taste of old blood in the mouth is kinda overwhelming.

Bring a thermos of soup or a smoothie. Honestly, it will be hard for her to even chew something soft. Here are some other ideas:
Bananas, watermelon, soft bread slices, and pudding.
Good luck!

Remind her not to use a straw it might loosen the clot and that would be really painful. When I had mine out I could only tolerate broth and cream soups in a cup so I could sip them and not irritate the sockets. Good Luck!

Pasta salad
Cook rotelli pasta until al dente. Toss with olive oil and set aside.
In the meantime, finely chop Italian cold cuts - like prosciutto, ham, salami, mozzarella cheese, provolone.
Add chopped tomatoes, green peppers, onions.
Toss in the pasta. Add oil and vinegar dressing. Delicious, and soft for your stepdaughter.

How about some homemade rice pudding for a dessert or warm bread pudding with some vanilla ice cream!

Jello, applesauce and pudding would be great snacks.
A pasta salad without crunchy carrots or celery would be good.
Deviled eggs.

I can ony suggest pasta salad for the man course and maybe pudding for dessert. Jell-o might be okay if you can keep it cold enough.
