I have a million time more anxiety, but if I go to the Doctor he will just make me start taking every day again, which I don't want to do. If I stop taking it long enough will the effects eventually stop happening?

Yes, but it will take a week or 2. One thing to consider is why you went on it in the first place. I went off mine because I thought I felt better and no longer needed it. I was wrong. It was the meds that made me feel better. I went back on again.

I'm confused. Taking your medication erratically, is going to cause problems. You are taking a drug and that drug will alter your state of mind. Either take it as directed or don't take it at all.

I did take generic Prozac for about 6 months. I was on 40 mg and it made me feel more depressed, much more panicky, unable to sleep and way more impulsive and although depressed, more euphoric than ever. I ended up attempting suicide. When I complained, my psychiatrist would simply up my dosage and tell me to see a psychologist, which would tell me to go to my psychiatrist about my complaints. Ha! Lots of fun. Anyways, the point is that I quit that medication 'cold turkey' and the symptoms that I had before going on Prozac obviously stayed, but those that were added with the Prozac went away. I had no discontinuation syndrome.

The real danger with quitting SSRI's 'cold turkey', especially Prozac that has a long half life and takes really long to leave your system, is actually a sudden relapse of symptoms. If you quit taking your meds and your experiencing lots of anxiety, it's probably because you stopped taking the med that was helping with your anxiety!! If your Prozac is causing anxiety, yes, stop taking it and find a doctor who understands that Prozac is shite for so many people!

This is ordinary. The drug is rearranging chemical substances to your mind so you could think slightly bit bizarre for about 3-four weeks while your physique adjusts to the brand new stuff. I really simply bought identified with depression and simply began Prozac 2 weeks in the past so i know what you are going by way of. I'm 14 years ancient, on week 2 of Prozac.

If you are prescribed Prozac, you should take it according to the Dr.s orders. If it is causing a problem, talk to your doctor and tell them how it is making you feel. Maybe they can prescribe another medication that won't make you feel weird. Maybe it's just because you go off and on of your medication that is causing the problems. I've had depression too, and they tried a lot of drugs that caused bad side effects. By talking with my Doc we finally found one that worked for me. Be honest with the Doc and hopefully you can find a medication that works for you too. Good luck

this is prevalent. The drug is rearranging chemical factors on your ideas which you are able to sense quite strange for approximately 3-4 weeks at an analogous time as your physique adjusts to the hot stuff. i individually only have been given clinically determined with melancholy and only began Prozac 2 weeks in the past so i understand what you're dealing with. i'm 14 years previous, on week 2 of Prozac.

If your doctor has prescribed Prozac you should take it as directed. You will probably get worse if you stop taking it.

If you would rather take something else, talk to your doctor about it.

If you have a problem with your doctor, maybe you should try to find another one.
