According to Adam Sandler's character from Spanglish:

World's Greatest Sandwich

3-4 slices of bacon
2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
2 slices of toasted rustic country loaf (pain de campagne)
1 tbsp of mayo
4 tomato slices
2 leaves of butter lettuce (yes, it’s called butter lettuce)
1 teaspoon butter
1 egg

LOL, I don't know if its the best, but I looked this up the other day and couldnt resist posting it! It does sound pretty good though...

Grill too much salmon for dinner; salmon should be seasoned, could have been marinated. Refrigerate overnight.
Take yummy crusty bread or rolls (rosemary or dill bread is ideal). Toast if you need to add firmness or crunch. Generously apply mayonaise, a slice of ripe tasty tomato, and perhaps some lettuce or wild lettuce or fresh dill. Add nicely chilled salmon.
Serve with a small sweet pickle on the side, and iced tea or a nice wine.

fry bacon
Slice tomatoes and remove wet stuff and seeds
Buy Swiss cheese and buy Cheddar cheese, both sliced thin.
Dip slice of bread into mixture of Beaten egg and some milk.
Place dipped bread onto hot buttered griddle. It should make popping noises when it hits the griddle
Layer cheese, bacon, cheese, tomato and cheese. Top with another slice of dipped bread.
Let it brown on one side, then carefully turn the sandwich over. Watch to make sure the cheese is melting, and the bread is not burning.
YUM ! Grilled cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich of the Monte Cristo style!

The Pittsburgh area Primanti Brothers Sandwich is the all time best sandwich.

My favorite is the cappacolla but you can use any meat.

Good thick, fresh bread
your choice of meat
top your sandwich with frys and coleslaw
add tomatoe

Yes the coleslaw and fries goes on the sandwich.

It is the best!!!!

This is a simple tuna sandwich. Buy tuna in oil. Drain some of the liquid (the liquid adds flavor) then add mayonnaise (either be plain or relished). Add some grated carrots, minced green pepper, pinch of salt and ground blackpepper, small amount of minced onion, and grated cheese. (just right amount proportional to the amount of your mayonnaise.) You can put a little amount of sugar or honey if you want hint of sweetness. Just mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl. You can use wheat bread or plain loaf of bread. It is best when grilled or toasted in an oven toaster.

Try this:

8oz Hamburger patty
Season it with Blackening Seasoning and sear it on a cast iron skillet on both sides, and slow cook until finished. Just before you take it out of the pan, put some Boursin (garlic and herb) cheese on top of it so it will melt. Then serve it on a kaiser roll with romain lettuce, tomato, and avocado.

Blackening Seasoning:
1 1/2T Garlic Powder
1 1/2T Onion Powder
2 t Paprika
1 t white pepper
2 t Dried Thyme
1 t chili powder
2 t Sugar
2 t salt
2 t dried basil

Or simply buy Paul Prudhome's Blackened Redfish Seasoning, its all the same crap.

You can find most of these things at whole foods.

I like to add fresh cucumber slices and baby lettuce to roasted turkey breast on 12 grain with Cranberry Mustard. Another favorite is roasted eggplant with Buffalo mozzarella on Focachia with Tomato basil sauce. Really the trick to a good sandwich is good strong multigrain breads, fresh meats and veggies.

Pulled Pork Sandwich is the bomb! Start with a Pork shoulder, use your favorite spice rub, marinate over night, smoke it with hickory wood for 8-10 hours, the meat falls apart. Shred the pork, place on top of a regular hamburger bun, topped with your fav bbq sauce top that with coleslaw...and you're in heaven baby
