Ever heard of "in the world, but not of it"? Catholics don't have to agree with you in order to love you for who you are. And, in that disagreement, if they refuse to acknowledge gay marriage, it's their prerogative to do so. I'd be interested in your source if you're going to claim that Catholics "shouldn't accept gay people into society."

As a mystic, I am content to dwell in the mysteries that most major religions claim to explain. Religious people are unable to think for themselves and do not trust that God will show them the way. Having few preconceived notions, I am outside the judgementalisms inherent in religions, therefore I can accept that the world is the way it is and prople are what they are and I do not feel so superior as to tell them what they SHOULD be or act like. Catholicism, of the major religions, has perverted the teachings of Jesus to an extraordinary degree. In general, I am in total disagreement with all fervent christians for several reasons, their self-congratulatory superiority complexes being foremost. Any catholic who claims their religion is tolerant is blind to history. Their attitudes make no sense because they are not founded in rationality.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.

As you can see it is impossible for the Church to allow homosexual people to marry. Doing so would promote something disordered as something ordered. It makes perfect sense.

"When i discovered it was against our church to be homosexual I found this was unfair(im not gay, but i am not against homosexuality)." ---- The sin of homosexuality is not in the fact that a person may have an affinity or even urges towards the same sex. The sin is in acting upon those urges and take it one step further towards the act of fornication. "So why would god make some people gay if it is a sin?" --- Unfortunately, for those who are gay, their cross to bear is that they must remain celibate until they get married. However, since they are gay, it shows that they are called to remain and live a single life. This is no different from heterosexuals, as we are also called to be celibate until marriage. "Also, the belief that it is a sin to masturbate don't make sense to me. Our denomination says it is a sin because it is wasting the seed of life." --- It is a sin, as it takes away GOD and the other person (your spouse) out of the picture. As such, it is a selfish form or love... love of oneself. "But these two specific beliefs just don't make sense to me, and if these are sins then how come they are not in other denominations?" ---- They are not in other denominations because they are focusing on self more than GOD. If we believe in GOD, we must then believe that HE knows better than us in these matters. The thing about the 30k+ denominations of Protestants is that they protested the original church, so the moment they didn't like a teaching, they removed it and started their own Church. But we must remember that GOD started ONE church... not 30k+. "Is this a sin? Does this make me unfaithful to god?" --- Well, again to believe in GOD is to believe in ALL his teachings, not just some. "Does it mean i will be damned to hell : ( ?" ---Only GOD can be the judge of this. "Is it ok to disbelieve these beliefs??" --- No it is not ok... GOD BLESS... I'll be praying for you...

Where did you get this? Catholics are NOT against gays, and by no means do we believe they shouldn't be part of society. The Church welcomes and calls all people, gay or not. She simply asks that all single people live chaste lives regardless of their sexual orientation.

No it does not, nor do most, if any dogmatic religions. Tolerant is not a word. I hate the word Tolerant. It implies that you accept, Knowing you are better.
It makes no sense I agree. To be tolerant is to sit on the fence.

Actually the only religions that actually make some sense are more likely to be called philosophies(Tao Confucianism Buddhism) rather than religions, and believe me christianism isn't one of them.

Biblically speaking, homosexuality is wrong. But it is not the job of any human, Catholic or otherwise to judge these people. It is God's job. It is our job to minister God's word to these people. It is our job to hate the sin, but love the sinner.

I am a Christian. I also have many gay friends. Because of my faith, they know that we disagree on this issue. They also know that I love them and they love me. We have had many a friendly debate on the issue, the key word being friendly.
