It would seem that God uses humans to write in. hahaha...I was just reading at the links mentioned down there and it would also seem that one prophet after another has appeared to men throughout history all with a similar message. Almost like the message is inherent to mankind. Or maybe just obvious to some. Of course if Jesus Christ is not your personal Savior then you aren't a Christian. I noticed that some believe Jesus was a prophet but not the Savior. Could be the phenomena will repeat itself until there is no need for it to re occur. You know how history repeats itself. I don't see any ripoff there. Other than some atheists are using semantics to bash your opinion that is.
Good Luck!

this website does bring up a valid point. If you took out the historical precedent we have with knowing the stories of Abraham Lincoln and JFK, and added 1000 years to the stories, do you think that based on the method of reasoning used in the Jesus rip off theory that an atheist would render that one story is a copycat of the other?

Oh ye of little faith!!!!
A biased website and a person with such poor faith they seek proofs and evidence - wow what happened to faith.
Are you seriously suggesting that before any record of Christianity that God did not exist? That he was not worshipped? Of course previous religions and sects are part of the history of Christianity and so there will be similarities.
At the time of Jesus there were a number of people claiming to be the messiah - well documented by the Romans.
Your lack or knowledge is very apparent and adds to the ridicule you will no doubt get!
Every time someone like you asks a question like this it heaps more ridicule on Christians and makes it harder to spread the Lord's word!!

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Christ has now risen from the dead.
How true are His words.
If they refuse God's word of truth, which is even known as The Bible, and which contains a preserved and authoritative account of all things necessary to show and prove its truth and which is the only word able to give life and knowledge and fellowship with God, then certainly they will believe anything however bogus and foolish.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Sadly they eventually reach the point when they deceive themselves.

Some random website is hardly "proof". And this website compares some common, natural instances. The similarity between Jesus and Mithra and Horus and many others is found in the SUPERnatural claims all make.

Just one examples off of the top of my head:
Acrisius, king of Argos, put Danae's son Perseus in a wooden box and sent him down the river.
That and the rest of the story is similar to Moses.
There are a lot more....The Christian religion has diverged over the centuries into many denominations, and not all hold the same set of sacred traditional narratives. For instance, the Roman Catholic Bible contains a number of books that the Protestant Bible does not include.

Devoted... Took a look at site, saving it to favorites for more reading, but, scrolled down through page.... looks like a lot of thought went into it...lots of links and info :)
Please excuse those whom say they won't look because it will probably be "biased".... seems to me they probably do little reading then since EVERYTHING is biased one way or another
Peace be with you :)
**LOL...The Lincoln/Kennedy study was an EXAMPLE of what/how people try to make comparisons between Jesus and various "gods"..... and pointing out that if a person only compares what is "like" between 2 people or objects and NOT also study the DIFFERENCES, then, any study done is not COMPLETE...

Hasn't it ever occurred to ANYONE that maybe all those previous faiths and belief systems were human beings trying to externalize that which God had "written in their hearts" and that when Himself showed on the scene it was just a matter of putting together the earlier, rougher versions with the McCoy!?

His legend was totally plagiarized from older myths. Denying it is denying reality. His words copycatted Buddhas, who was the true Prince of Peace.
The Christ was not a man. Look up in your sky sometime and see if you can figure out what all those older "crucified savior - born of a virgin - etc etc" legends were actually talking about.

I'm sorry, but having skimmed that website, it's just the standard disingenuous piffle. Comparing Lincoln and Kennedy, to suggest that the coincidences in their lives are somehow comparable to the coincidences between the respective worships of Jesus and Horus, is completely absurd. You might just as well argue that, in lieu of the similarities between Lincoln and Kennedy, James Joyce could not possibly have modeled his works on Dante.
