We knew that they were finished, and as soon as their atrocities were uncovered we fought them even harder.
My grandfather was there. He knew they were finished when he saw they still used horses to move munitions, and that young boys and old men were being drafted to fight the American forces toward the end. There was nobody else left.

Most people thought what they were told to think by the government propaganda machine.
Back in the 1940's the media was absolutely nothing like what it was now and governments had near total control over war reporting. This meant the people were told what the government wanted them to hear, whatever that might have been.
Think our government didn't get involved in such scurrilous activities? Think again!

Same as our dear dictator on duty, packing up, stilling all what they can, transferring bank accounts, getting new passports, and back then moving out of Europe, the difference now is that they are moving out of the States (hopefully), and trying to re-write or erase history.
