abosultely not, even if they seem to get along in the beginning they can not share a space. the best you can hope for is a "playtime" with seperate cages.

Syrian or Golden hamsters almost always end up fighting if kept in the same cage or tank... they really do not like anyone, animal or human coming near them when they are sleeping. I think it is mostly that they are territorial about their nest. I had a golden hamster for 4 years who was extremely sweet natured but if I put my hand in his tank when he was sleeping he would chatter and gnash his teeth and spring angrily out... until he realized it was just me... then he calmed down. Syrian or golden hamsters sleep extremely soundly and do not appreciate being disturbed during the day. I expect this is the main reason they won't tolerate other hamsters living in their quarters. Also the fact is they are solitary animals in the wild... so you can't expect them to live in close proximity with other hamsters when it's just not in their nature to do so.

My recently deceased hamster Brownie (R.I.P babe xx)) was a Syrian hamster and, althugh she wouldn't hurt a fly, she'd probably still fight with another hamster in there. Hamsters (especially Syrians) need their own spaces and like to keep their own food bowl, own water bottle, own house etc. if you know what I mean. If you get two Syrian hamsters and they live together, you could bet one would be dead by morning (sorry to say))..
You can get two cages and keep the cages next to each other.. there's nothing wrong with that. As long as they can't go near each other, it's okay.. xx

becuase syrian hamsters are independent so they NEED to live alone or they will fight to kill they will not back off. if its a male and a baby hamster the male would kill the hamster. its just there way of living in a natural habitat they enjoy human company not other hams

Syrian hamsters (also known as teddybears) are territorial animals which mean they hate living with another hamster. They have to live solitary as hamsters will fight to the death.

If you get them together, sometimes they can live together. Hamters are NOT socal creatures. They like to be alone. If you put two together, they will fight and one day one will lose.
Males especially are territorial.
