As a Muslim, I strongly believe that nothing in this world will move and will happen without His permission. As a Creator He has absolute control over it.
To show that He is the most gracious and most merciful He gives us free will. We are free to do what we think right (of course we have to answer to Him later).
Praying shows that we worship Him, practice our free will and accepted His absolute power.

What is the need of talking with our father ? For our needs,
for thanking him for what he had given us, for saying acknowledgement to any faults from us, for clearing our doubts and many more. Like that pray is a talking between
man and god.

There are a number of species in the universe, which are deprived of intellect and independent action. But we are blessed with both. Praying is a simple gratification and gratitude to god for bestowing human birth.

because He is the original source of everything and He is our father. prayer is a form in which we are reciprocating with Him. If we do not pray , then i suppose we think that we dont need His help maybe even think ourselves to be God or God like. Prayer is essential for spiritual growth.

We pray to get into a higher consciousness and to attempt to see our situation from a higher perspective. God does not need our prayers; WE need to pray for our own benefit.

I can't speak for others, but I pray because I need the strength, direction, peace, and love etc. provided by God.

There is a certain limit up to which we can contol our lives. Beyond that, we can only hope that what is favourable for us happens. We pray to God in order to place our faith in the "Supreme".
