I am in Texas, and have a 1979 Jeep CJ5 (Wrangler).
I was told one can get a license plate which says the word “Antique” on it, if the vehicle is more than 25 years old. Is this true?

Are you talking about a vanity plate or a "historical" plate? Many States have plates that can be purchased for cars over 25 years old that say either Antique or Historical across the top. The rest of the plate is normal except for the color. Vanity plates cost extra and the word is there instead of the regular numbers/letters. There would only be one plate with the word Antique on it in the whole State as this is the actual license number.

Sure, but the thing is "Antique" is seven letters/numbers, some states allow 7 and some states only allow 6. In expample in Cali. you can have a vanity plate that says "Tragic5" but in Texas you can only have it say "Tragic". So in Texas? No.

I think you can get a license plate which says anything you want it to say, as long as it is not derogatory and/or improper. Check to make sure your DMV doesn't have a record of anyone else having this license plate (vanity plate) and then tell them you want one (You'll probably have to pay extra).
