ummmmm..... well the first one no. ummm.. what you need to do is put both in different cages , then you put them together out side of the cage and eventually inside one cage together. my sisters parakeet killed the other one. but i did the cycle above and it worked great the only problem was that when one died the other tried to commit suicide by chewing his wing off.

Neither is true. Not all parakeets will talk kinda the luck of the draw so to speak. ANd no they wont stop eating. They might peck at the new one and keep them from the "flock" but they will get us to them. I now have 5 I bought them in pairs of 2 then introduced the final one. Only ONE of them attempts to speak. Ive only known 2 parakeets ever to talk. So if you think your little friend WILL talk you might be shocked. They all dont talk. Good luck

And remember birds in general are "flock" animals and should have a friend or a couple of friends.

it depends how old and how familiar your keet is to it's cage!

1.)No that's never happened to me, and I've never heard of such a thing, if anything they'd get along after a while... but it might be harder to teach your keet(s) how to talk if there's two!

2.)I doubt the parakeet would get jealous after all it would have a new friend

the worst that could happen is when you bring the new keet home the other will either try to kill it or peck the crap out of it... (that happened to me)

I advise if your getting another parakeet to buy another cage with all the necessities needed, put both cages next to each other and let them get used to each other for about 2 months... that way you wont have the chance of one being beaten up =/

1. No.

and

2. No.

The budgies may talk, its just that they will chatter more with each other, and you will have to spend a lot of time with them to get them to talk. They don't need you, they have each other.

Budgies are usually very friendly and accepting of new budgies once they are introduced properly. (even if they arent introduced properly there more than likey wont be any problems because its a single bird so it cant gang up)

Good luck
