My friend and I was debating today whether or not Nero use to be a free product that you didn't have to pay for compared today. He said that you use to be able to get it for free, while I am pretty sure that you always had to pay for it? Anyone knows this and perhaps a reference, I havent been able to find anything?

My friend and I was debating today whether or not Nero use to be a free product that you didn't have to pay for compared today. That you could just download it free from the Internet legally. He said that you use to be able to get it for free, while I am pretty sure that you always had to pay for it? Anyone knows this and perhaps a reference, I havent been able to find anything?

Let me see if I can help clear it up for you.
Many companys offer Free Software for you to download,
Many computers also come with burning Software as well
This doesn't mean thaey are what I would use.
Personally if I am going to make copies of anything I want to use the best software, the best media and thus you get the best results
Roxio's Toast -8 is in fact the top of the line in burning software.
Remember free products normally do not have all of the features included to produce the best results.
In other words they leave stuff off of the free versions.
