I was wondering if I would be able to fly in the US and also if I will be able to get my passport seeing is I am paying on the arrears out of my paycheck and tax return. Also does that make me a candidate for the no fly list the government has

Assuming that you are in the US, you only need positive photo ID to fly within the US and its possessions. A passport is not required. You will not be put on a no-fly list for nonpayment of child support.

You will be able to flywithin the US - you don't need a pasport for that. You won't be on the no-fly list.

Passports are denied to anyone owing over $2500 in child support arrearages. When you get your amount owed under that, you'll be able to get a passport. If "acceptable payment arrangements" have been made, you might still be able to receive a passport - see http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppi/family/family_863.html

If you are in the US, then you can travel anywhere in the US (not sure about AK and HI) without a passport.

Until you are current on your back child support, you won't get a passport.

Steve, I live in Alaska.....NO you dont need a passport. We are still part of the US.
