It stops you from logging in and using it untill you activate it.
Best thing to do is to call them by phone - it's all automated now so you just have to answer the questions with a yes or a no.

I know this is not answering the question but I can't imagine anyone having a computer,not getting excited about using it and actually waiting 30 days before activating. I presume though if you try to activate after the 30 days, you will get a message up and you will have some form or other to fill out on line, or given a contact number so they can verify you.

No problem if u does not activate also,,
if ur having windows xp and u want to activate it to xp-3 there is no problem u can activate when ever u want there is no such restrication that we should activate with in time only,,,
if ur system occurs any problem then keep the cd in cd or dvd rom then hold delete it will go to bios section there u change the settings and again reinstall
by using the option
if u need to activate urgently the go to www.microsoft.com
there u can install a genuine copy or u can buy it.

If you have the genuine CD, then you should not have a problem. If you purchased it online then usually after 30 days you will see it pop as a alert that you have passed the time to activate and it will give you further instructions on how to deal with it.

You can only use Windows XP in a limited mode and not all the features are functional.

You need to activate windows after 30 days ,if you faill to then windows will not work.
