I'm still kinda sleepy, and I'm headed into the library to do some heavy research/work, so I really need to be awake & functioning.
What should I eat for breakfast that'll give me that edge to wake me up completely?
(And coffee, sadly, isn't an option - I've been trying to give it up and drink tons of water instead, so this is strictly food.)

The best breakfast is always a mix of protein and high fiber carbs. I eat oatmeal, fruit and walnuts every morning (unsweetened). Other great choices include eggs with whole grain toast or shredded wheat cereal with low fat milk and fresh fruit. Happy researching!

Usually sugar or fructose (a form of sugar) gives a quick energy boost. Fruits are a source of fructose. Try a banana, some strawberries, and a peach. Cut up and place in a blender with a cup of 1 or 2 percent milk and as an extra boost, a tablespoon of honey or molasses. Another thing to try, and your'll think this is weird...Pasta. Long distance runners load up with carbohydrates for long lasting energy and eating spaghetti does the trick for them. Easy on the sauces though. Maybe a tuna/seashell pasta salad. Good luck.
