I am not afraid to die, if I was I would not have the job I have. I am a Fire Department Chaplain and firefighter. The danger of the job means that each time I go on a call I face the fact of possible death. I also remember the 364 firemen that gave their lives on 9/11. Many of them were Christians and I know that one day soon I will be reunited with them. At the Last Fire Bell when the Final Watch is called, and the only fire left is the one in Hell.

55:26] Everyone on earth perishes.
[55:27] Only the presence of your Lord lasts. Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
[40:67] He is the One who created you from dust, and subsequently from a tiny drop, then from a hanging embryo, then He brings you out as a child, then He lets you reach maturity, then you become old - some of you die earlier. You attain a predetermined age, that you may understand.
[40:68] He is the only One who controls life and death. To have anything done, He simply says to it, "Be," and it is.
[4:78] Wherever you are, death will catch up with you, even if you live in formidable castles...
[16:70] GOD created you, then He terminates your lives. He lets some of you live to the oldest age, only to find out that there is a limit to the knowledge they can acquire. GOD is Omniscient, Omnipotent.
[3:145] No one dies except by GOD's leave, at a predetermined time. Whoever seeks the vanities of this world, we give him therefrom, and whoever seeks the rewards of the Hereafter, we bless him therein. We reward those who are appreciative.
Death and Resurrection: Every Day*
[6:60] He is the One who puts you to death during the night, and knows even the smallest of your actions during the day. He resurrects you every morning, until your life span is fulfilled, then to Him is your ultimate return. He will then inform you of everything you had done.
[39:42] GOD puts the souls to death when the end of their life comes, and also at the time of sleep. Thus, He takes some back during their sleep, while others are allowed to continue living until the end of their predetermined interim. This should provide lessons for people who reflect.

Jesus Christ, God's only Son was afraid to die, & he even knew that within 3 days God will raise him up again, Some may ask why was Jesus Afraid, Because he was showing his human side of himself, When he said it is finished, Then he was showing The spirit of God side in him. It is in the human nature to have some fear, Except for the ones that had their minds already sealed to reallity. & also that part of fear comes from not us Christians not trusting God, But we are right now looking at the other side of life through a glass darkly, meaning we can't see everything yet in the spirit world.

A lot of young people aren't afraid to die, whether or not they believe in God. Somehow, the older you get, the more precious life seems.
And of course, everyone who thinks has doubts, whether they believe or not. So you can be afraid that you're wrong, and God doesn't exist. (Or, if you don't believe, you can be afraid that you're wrong, and God does exist!)
Or, look at it this way -- Many of us are afraid of any new experience. If you can be afraid to walk into a room full of strangers -- why not be afraid of death, of which you know nothing?

I believe in God yet I am not afraid to die. It is what we all will go through one day in our life. It is a payment for the sin Adam and Eve committed - death. What frightens us when we think of death is that we are not prepared to die or, we can't let go of our life and of our loved ones. It pains us to even think that, someday, we will be leaving everything we love behind and will never ever see them again. That is the truth, that is why we fear death.

Because it will take 10 thousand year for as to come back in this world but some can maybe 100 years if you are good or if some one kills you but don't curse other, just remember we all die? We also cry because we can see that its our time to go and it is not easy for us to take the very last hour? The ending of hope mixed with grief are not a good combination?

I'm not afraid to die, not any more. After watching my mother succumb to a long illness, and being beside her as she took her last breath, all my fear of death went with that last breath.
That doesn't mean that I WANT to die; I want to live. I have a lot to live for. I have a great church family, who loves me and prays for me; I have a great physical family whom I love, 2 sisters, one brother, many nieces and nephews, one husband and three children, and 2 grandchildren. I have some great friends and many associates. I'm at a point in my life where I've lost my professional direction (translate that to to me being unemployed, lol), and I use this time to find it again. In the meantime, I take care of myself and my family, I keep myself current, I read my Bible, I talk to people about Christ, I help people on Y!A (at least I hope I do), and I stay busy.
I look forward to meeting God someday, but I hope it won't be any time soon. As I said, I've got a lot to live for.

Pain for one thing. Don't know many people who like that.
Also, although some may be people of faith, they may be uncertain of their "final destination", perhaps because they feel that they haven't lived good enough lives or have believe enough.
No one has real concept of Heaven. Despite being told it's a place of eternal happiness, people are usually only comfortable with what they know and have already experienced.
Others may be concerned that their loved ones' souls are in jeopardy, and they feel they need more time to help convert them into believers.
These are just a few thoughts.

I believe in God (Christ Jesus) and I'm not afraid to die. I look forward to going to heaven. What I fear is the pain that I will feel when I die.

Well even though you believe in GOD and the eternal life and all, everyone or almost everyone is afraid to die. I think it comes natural. But GOD is always there and if you need anything just ask him.
