I am moving across country and want to make sure I take only the things that will be absolutely necessary. I live in my own place here and will be donating most of my large bulky items to friends.
Question: What should I get rid of? What should I take? Has anyone done a move like this? I don't want to leave or throw out everything because I will just have to spend money to replace it once I get over there. I am stocking my car up with boxes of smaller items.

Should I just take the bare necessities and leave everything else?

I am moving into a apartment which will be half furnished.
