Were you diagnosed by a family physician? You may want to go to a professional therapist. I read an article yesterday on bipolar and most physical doctors don't understand nor are in a position to really test, so they just prescribe a pill. In some cases the pill makes you feel worse. So take them with caution. If you notice you feel worse, stop taking them. But I would seek professional help, not just a doctor.

My wife was on Prozac for 1 year. You have to give it time to start working (about a month). Good luck.

I'm depressed of what may happen in the future
i don't think anti-depressants are the way to go unless you've been trying for a good time to cure your depression to no avail

You need to take any anti-depressant 4-12 weeks before you will notice a change. Take it religiously and don't drink alcohol.
