I got a baby budgie he was 9 weeks out of the nest when i got him he had a blue baek. Now hes around 9 months old & his beak has justs gone light brownish pink , he is still lossing baby feather but now i dont know if he is a boy or girl. He does not talk but does mutter a lot is there a chance he will still talk or is he to old. Any help would be good. Thanks Nicole.

The part right above his beak that has two little dots is an indicator of the gender. If that space turns bluish, its a male. If it is tannish its a female. You may not be able to tell for another couple of months though

I'm not sure on a budgie, but I have an old Cockatiel , and a 5 mo. old cockatiel who talks up a storm- Well, that 5 month old got this old coclatiel to say, "Come here, right here"- It is so cute-But I don't know about budgies?

sorry to say that you have a girl budgie.Girl s do not talk they just chatter. You can always just get her a friend now.
