With all due respect, Marie, I think you're listening to an orhtodontist who is behind the times. I've found many old-school orthodontists who don't understand what Invisalign can do.

In fact, Invisalign may work faster and cost much less than traditional braces. I recently attended a national conference of experienced Invisalign providers and saw very successful outcomes from patients with all kinds of crowding, gaps, and malocclusion.

The best thing to do is see a dentist who has done at least 100 cases. They will know if your case qualifies or not. In the hands of a well-qualified dentist, Invisalign can do wonders AND it has the advantage of actually seeing the finished case before you begin.

Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. Invislign only works for classs I malocculsion and not for any major crooked teeth or large gaps. It is just not strong enough. Just you have to wear them all the time and most people don't like this.
It takes a long time and is very costly considering that you must also wear a retainer for a period of time after.
Regular braces will move your teeth quickly and in the proper place and will remain so with a better success than the trays. Personally for the monies, I would work with an Orthodontist and get it done right and as soon as possilbe. Too much room for error wearing trays that move only a tiny bit at a time and can take 2-3 years. Trust me, it is a fad that will pass. It has already begun to fall out of favor by many dentists because patients become annoyed that it takes so long. M

It does, it just takes a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time. You also probably can't have major issues with your teeth being out of line, only a bit crooked. (You can't have large spaces or REALLY crooked teeth.)

My friend did it, it was years before she finished.
