Matthew 28:1,

"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary
Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb."

This corelates to the 4th Commandment given to us by God,

Exd :20

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it
holy."

Leviticus 23:3

"There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live..."

If the first day of our week is Sun., then our seventh day of the week is Sat..I'm interested in your comments.

Good morning Good will. Thanks for this interesting Post. The Sabbath day was given to us by God at Creation. The Sabbath is for both Jews, Christians and all religions of the world. Christian Believers make a major mistake by stating emphatically that the Sabbath is only for the Jewish people. Jesus and the apostles all kept the biblical Sabbath day Holy. (Luke 4:16) (Acts 18:4)It has never been changed by divine authority. Most would agree with you that the first day of the week is on Sunday as our Calendar reflects and the Seventh-day of the week is on Saturday. This is also defined in any dictionary. The Seventh day of the week is on Saturday. The Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church with over 15 million people worldwide are absolutely correct about the Sabbath. Their is no argument on this point of faith. Other Christian churches are beginning to give deeper study to the Sabbath truth. Some have even started to have Saturday services for various reasons.

We need to return to the Sabbath of the Lord. God will bless those who are obedient to his Holy word in this regard. It is not popular to attend church on Saturday. We should do what's right because God established it in his word. Many people will be lost because of their disobedience to god's word. Many ministers will be held accountable on Judgement because they knew the truth but hid it in their hearts. They would much rather hold on to tradition that teach and keep the Commandments of God.

It's time that we get our act together. Read and study our Bibles, and obey his Holy word. No deviation from strict integrity will meet God's approval. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. (John 14:15) (Revelation 12:17).

Stand for what's right in this generation even if you must stand alone. Don't try to please man and miss out on Heaven. Stand firm, and be strong in the Lord.

Jesus commanded us to keep his Commandments. John 14:15 "If you love me keep my Commandments". This also includes honoring God's Holy weekly Sabbath day. The Sabbath should be celebrated from Sundown Friday until Sundown Saturday. The Bible actually begins a day at Sunset rather than after Mid-night. Each new day begins when the Sun sets. Friday is the day for Sabbath preparation. We should all take this time to prepare for God's Holy Sabbath. Every Satuday attend a Seventh-day Adventist Church for worship service and fellowship. Adventists are wonderful Christians. They will teach you the Bible. (Acts 17:11).

Make plans to be in church next Sabbath. They will welcome you and your family with open arms. You must take that first step. Jesus is waiting for you to do this.

May God bless you all and have a joyful Sabbath.

Hi Goodwill, The 7th day Sabbath goes back all the way to the time of creation. Genesis 2:1-3 relates that the work of creation was finished. On the 7th day God rested, then He blessed and sanctified it.
The term "sanctified" means made holy. This was to be the day that all men were to come to worship the Creator and receive His blessing.
Some will argue that the Sabbath has been done away with because it was nailed to the cross (Colossians 2:13) Well if it was then the other nine commandments must also have been done away with so we are free to steal, murder, rape and bear false witness as well, yet our laws based on those same commandments are still valid. A careful reading of Colossians 2 will reveal that it was the sacrificial system that was nailed to the cross because Christ's sacrifice was perfect and made animal sacrifice unnecessary. Jesus also said that, "He came to to destroy the law but to fulfill it." Mattew 5:17.
Some will argue that it was the Jewish day of worship and has nothing to do with Christians, but creation preceeded the jewish nation by thousands of years.
According to the Book of Revelation the Sabbath Day will become a focal issue in end time events, Revelation 14:6,7 clearly is speaking in creation language.
I hope that this has been of some help to you, and yes, I am a Sabbatarian.
H'chat.

In 108 languages of the international Sabbath ability Saturday. do you already know why God began the 4th commandment with "remember." It became by using fact he knew we would overlook. I even have talked to pastors of different denominations with reference to the Sabbath question and none has yet to grant me a appropriate answer. You're correct... but if you read in the New Testament Christ was resurrected on the 1st day and it was also a Sunday that the Holy Ghost visited the Apostles... It is now the Lord's Day.
"Occurs in the Bible only in Rev. 1: 10. The first day of the week is meant, being the day of our Lord’s resurrection and also the day on which the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles. References to its weekly observance are found in 1 Cor. 16: 1-2; Acts 20: 7; and in many early Christian writers."

Sunday is the first day of the week, and the Sabbath is the seventh, or last day of the week.

Give the man a cigar!

You make one of the most common blunders in Biblical scholarship when you declare "...the 4th Commandment given to "us" by God.

God did not give "us" the fourth commandment. God did not give "us" any of the commandments.

God gave the commandments (the old covenant law) to ancient Israel as a covenant. "We" were not a party to that covenant. Regardless, that covenant ended as any such covenant ends upon the death of either party. God died in the personage of Jesus on the cross, and the Jewish Christian dies to the law through baptism.

A Christian is dead to the law and dead to sin. It looks like you are trying to resurrect Christians back to both.

What you are doing is commonly called "replacement theology" and is invalid. You cannot apply the law to people who were never under the law, or are not under the law to begin with.

The commandments i know are:
Love God above all things, with all your mind, with all your heart and with all your might.
Love you neighbor as you love yourself.

Man wasn't made for sabbath but it is sabbath made for man.
And it was said there will be alot of changes in the laws of the Jews.

We no more stone sinners to death.
We praise God in Lord's day which is on sunday.

I know you are an adventists.
I respect your knowledge about the bible.
But the answers to your doubts are not in the bible.
If you ever believe Jesus is our savior, is it ever mentioned in the bible that Jesus wrote the bible? It is not written.
But what was written in the bible is that Jesus built the Church through Saint Peter. And that Church is still alive today and that is the Catholic Church the Universal Church.
The Church will never fall dall or ever perish, because Jesus has a devine promise that He will stay with His Church.
Just think of it... It was said that if your name wasn't written in the Book of Life you cannot enter the Kingdom of God.
It was also said by Jesus that if you are not with me you are against me. Jesus and His Church is one. As one as Jesus is married to His Church the Catholic Church.

The Sabbath is cerebrated on Saturday. Christians worship God on Sunday because that is the day He rose from the dead. The Day of the Lord it was called.

The sabbath is still from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday. As you noted, the women went to the tomb early on the day following the sabbath, i.e. resurrection day. Saturday is the sabbath -- Sunday is resurrection day.

True Christians are under no obligation to observe the sabbath.

This was an arrangement that was to be followed leading up to the ransom sacrifice of the Christ.
Likewise the ten commandments are also superseded by Christs teachings.

A true Christian cannot be still back in the Mosaic or Jewish system of things.

Colossians 2:16
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days

I do not care which day it is, but it should be a day set aside to rest, have peace, and give thanks to the Lord.

Jesus Christ is described as the Sabbath. He IS our Sabbath, and our peace in which we rest. Those who cannot put a day aside for Him, show that they will not be able to spend and eternity WITH Him. I'm NOT talking about getting all dressed up, and going to a building either! I'm talking about a living stone, in His church, the body of Christ setting apart (holy) time to be with with her husband, for we are His bride, and one with Him in this mystery known as one body.

The manifestation of those who keep His Sabbath here on earth is no different than the earthly reminder He gave us to do in communion. In this we are reminded of His sacrifice on the cross, where He paid for our sins in our stead. In the Sabbath we look toward an eternity spent in His restful peace.
