I'm just starting to shop around for a camcorder, and I only need it for decent looking home movies. Does this resolution produce a good, clear quality video, or should it be higher. It seems like most of the camcorders in the $300-500 range have this resolution, and thats all I'm really looking to spend. Thanks

a miniDV camera should have 720 x 480 resolution as that is what is recorded on tape. cameras that make computer files (memory card, dvd, hard drive) 640x480 would be acceptable standard resolution.
