I saw a puppy the other day, he was light brown, sort of beige. He was cuddly like a teddy, not too furry, just enough. He actually reminded me of a panda, but obviously not black and white. smaller than a cat, but I don't know how big they grow, though I'm sure they must stay quite small.

Not the Pomeranian either.

I would say it's furry was sort of curly kinda like a poodles.

A wheaten terrier? They get kind of big though.
Or a poodle mix maybe.

If you have another pet you might want to consider linking their names together. Personally I always like that. But the choice of the name is completely up to you and your dog. My recommendation as a trainer is to pick something with a hard syllable in it, because that is probably all the dog is gong to recognize. When you have a name with two hard syllables the dog only recognizes the last one. From a training standpoint a single hard syllable is what you want. A word that is simple, yet distinct. Trendy isn't important, practicality is. Put some thought into it. Think a word that is easy to say, is short and has a hard syllable in it. Now speaking as a kennel owner! What I always hated was when someone brought in a dog that either had a long drawn out name or one that I couldn’t pronounce because of a language difference (once I got a dog that only spoke Japanese.) While those dogs were in my kennel I had to address them by a different name, one of my choosing. Use the old saying, KISS (keep it simple…….) Happy hunting!

I'd guess you are thinking of the Cairn terrier..

How furry they look depends on grooming, but that's the first thing I thought of..

The only small one, that looks like a bear, that I can think of, is a Pomeranian. Could you be thinking about a Chow Chow maybe?

Possibly a chow chow? Doesn't exactly match your description, but I'm throwing it in just in case.
