It's very important to me. I've cooked from scratch my whole life...this is how I learned to cook as a child from my mother. Because of this, it is harder for me to cook from boxes and things because I've so rarely done it. I know how to cook from scratch...I'd have to read the directions on the other stuff. Also, not to toot my own horn, but I think my food is better than anything pre-made. :)

We only eat out about once a week or less, so I cook every night, but I don't always go to the store and get fresh vegetables and stuff to do it. We have a freezer, so I use frozen vegetables and meat and I hate to say it, but sometimes we eat a meal in a box so all I have to do is throw it together, throw it in the oven and I'm done.

I love to cook which is a good thing because I have 3 big men in my house! We do takeout occasionally, but for the most part, I cook healthy delicious meals from scratch.

I live in a retirement/low income community and I see some of the food that they get delivered to them from a food bank. I am very glad that I can cook. I eat a hamburger out maybe once in 2 weeks. I retain so much of my small income by staying home.

I do not like to cook, but before we retired and the kids were home I of course cooked healthy meals.
As for now, my husband and I have discovered the wonderful world of deli foods, Stouffer's frozen dinners with no additives, Michael Angelo's frozen dinners (eggplant is delicious), Marie Calendar's frozen dinners. And there are many more that I have not tried as of yet, but have heard how good they are.
Best of all the pre-cooked meats from Smithfield, Hormel, Armour, etc. They have roasts with gravy, meatloaf, pork chops, pot-roasts with gravy, chicken, ham, etc. So many good foods. Pop in the microwave and serve with canned S&W sweet potatoes (has brown sugar and cinnimon), a veggie, a frozen pie thawd, and ice tea. Any leftovers can be frozen to be used for another meal.
I love the new food world we are living in. So many wonderful things in supermarkets now days.

Depends on how you look at it. You can get a lb of ground beef and hamburger helper, and make enough food to feed a family of 3 or 4, or have leftovers for a day or two... or spend $2.98 on one meal.

Totally important, I cook for our family from scratch every day. Once about every two weeks we do take out.

It's very important to me. It saves heaps of money over eating out, we aren't limited to some menu, I can make food taste the way we like it, and most importantly, it's much healthier than junk food and greasy fast food.
