Terry G is not right. The traditional Muslim view, even in the early days, was more nuanced. Non-Muslims were not allowed to live in Arabia, but otherwise are supposed to be allowed to live in peace, though not equality, at least in the case of Christians and Jews. And there is a special exception in Islamic law for Ethiopia, whose Christians were supposed to be forever left untroubled. The real problem with traditional Islamic law is the status of people other than Muslims, Christians, and Jews, for whom no place seems to have been made.

Im not being pushy, but you asked for views so here it goes. I don't know much about Islam but I do know about Christianity. I am a proud Christian and I know that God created the Heavens and the Earth. Adam and Eve sinned, ths sin came in the world. This seperated us from God. But God wants a relationship with us. He loves us so much that his Son Jesus Christ came down to Earth and did so many incredible miracles that science will never be able to explian because its a God-thing. Jesus died on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice. So that we could be forgiven for everything that God knew we would do. This way we can be clean and have a relationship with God. He rose from the dead three days later then later went up in Heaven to be with God. You can confess your sins to God and ask him into your heart. You will be forgiven for everything that you have done and ever will do. You will go to Heaven and live for forever with the one who created you (God) and loved you so much that he let his only Son die for. I have asked Jesus in my heart and have personally seen my life change incredibly. You don'y have to be a certain religion to do this. You could be Babtist, Methodist, Catholic and im sure there are others. The only thing that matters is you and your relationship with God.
Thats my view. I hope you realize how much he loves you.

What is good in Islam really derives from Christianity.

Islam was invented by Mohammed after he heard about Christianity. Unfortunately he just took part of what Christianity says and made up other parts that contradicted with what God had already revealed in the Bible.

The problem with anyone taking part of the Bible and ignoring or changing the rest is that you end up in error. The Bible tells us that our sins have spoiled our relationship with God. Neither good works nor rituals will fix it. God is righteous and holy, so nothing we do can undo the bad things we've done.

Only Christ's sacrifice on the cross is the answer to restoring our relationship with God. How can reciting the same words day after day change anything? It is just a ritual that makes you feel like you've done something to earn some points with God.

No, the only way is to say sorry to God in your deepest heart for your past misdeeds, and resolve from now on to put God's commands first and to love your neighbour, and to trust God for forgiveness.

You asked for my view. I hope you find something useful.

Islam is a religion of peace and justice. Islam means to peacefully and willingly submit to the commandments of Allah. This includes testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone and that Muhammad is His final messenger to mankind... to Pray five times a day... pay the Zakat (poor tax)... Fast the Month of Ramadan... and perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Mekkah) if financially capable once in your life. It also entails believing in the unseen (angels, paradise, hellfire, etc.,) the Prophets (Adam, Ibrahim, Noah, Jonah, Job, Lot, Solomon, David, Moses, Aaron, Jesus, Muhammad, etc... peace be upon them all,) and the revealed books of Allah (Torah, Injeel (Bible), Qur'an, etc.) If you have any questions about Islam then feel free to ask me. May Allah bless you with guidance!

Dear one, here is my advice for you:
-Follow your truth, do not let others or ANYTHING define it for you.
-Be open, our mind works well when open like parachute
-All path leads to one - One summit, many valleys to climb from
-Be flexible - be like water that can take shape of anything it is put into
-Do not be attached to words - Words are just tools to communicate ideas, do not mistake them for the real thing
-Truth is relative - Everything should be put in their right context. Truth can never stay the same, because it is the nature of life to change, no movement(change) is death

Another thing i would like to remind you;
- We Are One - The whole life and system is interconnected and intertwined
- We Are not Separate from one another and from God - We are like living on the same board of paper, what we do affect the other side
- We live in the body of God - fish do not realize they are swimming in sea of water, so do we do not realize we are living in the ocean of God
- God is not a being outside and separate from us controlling us from above. Instead God lives within us and it is impossible to be separate from God
- Everyone of us is spark of God experiencing human. It is perfection itself for forgetting our true nature as God so that we may remember who we really are again, it is the plan of the Divine
-Nothing is not divine, nothing is not perfect, do not judge, do not condemn. Anything that is not perfect would not have existed in this system from the first place, because God/Life/All That Is is perfection itself

Are you interested in Islam?
I would personally recommend you Sufism Islam

You are blessed one...
Wish you sincerest luck and light!
^_^
Love

"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects Evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things."(Al-Baqarah:256)

Why don't you go to your nearer mosque?

It's not right that Islam says to kill all non-muslims, because we have no rights to judge people's faith, we only oblige to pass the message (from God). Some Muslims have been quite extreme, but that's not what real Islam is.
