would be difficult to take any action unless you saved a sample of the food and it would have to be tested within 24 hrs

A lot of food poisoning takes between 12 and 72 hours to show any signs. So, although a lot of people blame curries, that's not necessarily the case.

Also, you're more likely to get ill from re-heating cooked rice than you are from re-heating meat. Not many people realise it, but rice is a high-risk food!

If you still have the food wrap it up in a bag and take it to your local environmental health, theres your proof now visit the takeaway in question and tell them that you have taken the food into the EH department and ask them what they are going to do about it. SEE you doctor so theres proof on your medical notes and see what they have got to say for themselves. They might offer you some sort of compensation there and then just dont accept the offer of free food!!!!!

Sounds like food poisoning, or maybe just food intolerance. Don't just demand your money back, report them to the Environmental Health Department, they may need their premises inspecting for cleanliness and hygiene.

Generally the incubation time for most types of food poisoning is between 12-24 hrs so if I was you I would think further back to what I had eaten that day.

normally food poisoning is from something you ate 24 - 48hours ago. I suspect if you did contract it from this dish it will be from the rice. If they kept it warm or reheated it you can get some pretty nasty food poisoning from b. Cerrius (scuse spelling) its a spore forming bacteria that isn't killed when cooking and when reheated can grow to levels that cause food poisoning.

Money back!...sod that!, go in there & tell them your contacting the Health & Safety people....make a formal complaint & have the place closed down!. The place sounds like it's a second rate choke'n'puke anyhow. You'll be doing the public a service mate!.

Could be - wouldn't hurt reporting them to the Invironmental health people - if they are clean and hygenic in practice, then they have nothing to worry about. It could be the rice as somebody else said, the bacteria called clostridium can work faster than salmonella/listeria/e-coli bacteria.

Sounds like food poisoning, need to go to hospital to know for sure. Don't ever eat there again.

You can call and complain, and the go down and puke on them. I would call the health inspector though, because if you got sick, chances are others will too. I would also go to the hospital or GP for a diagnosis, because if it came from undercooked meat you could get seriously ill.
