We have been safe since 9/11 because we have a shitty government? We are envied and attacked upon idiots. Stop thinking we have no purpose in this war. Why don't you tell me what will happen when we pull out all troops. I have a brother there so dont' tell me I don't know about military actions. I shouldn't have to explain myself and why we are the best country in the world. Whatever happened to all the American flags on cars after 9/11. I think what happened in that Americans are wusses and haven't experienced hard times in so long they don't know what's going on right now. The world isn't peaches and cream folks. You defend what is ours and we have the best military in the world. The war may have gone on for too long and it's sad. Although, we can't pull out. Therefore, you must support our actions and our troops. Don't you know how it makes them feel when they are putting their butt on the line and you mock the whole idea of being there. USA is the best country and always will be.

You've been safe - before and since 9/11 because you're a long way from the people successive US governments have worked so hard to make into enemies.
The surprising thing about 9./11 was that it took so long to happen and that there haven't yet been any further attacks.
Its not a question "mocking the whole idea of being there" - its way beyond mere mocking - its criminal and its tragic.
Of course any observer feels for the grunts on the line in Iraq - its not their fault - although if they shot less and asked more questions it would be a whole lot different!
They haven't had the training - and the US forces as institutions are probably totally incapable of adopting the necessary mindset, having believed for too long that all problems can be solved with enough ammunition.
Contrast this with the relative success that the Brits have had there - while it is only a difference of degree, its substantial.
The bully-boy approach and hypocrisy of the USA makes it the most hated nation on earth - every time you talk about how important your freedom is, while arming & despotic tyrant dictators all over the world makes you new enemies.
Every time you bomb some third-world hovel you encourage the nephews & cousins of your victims to live for revenge.
I recall seeing a list of 50-something countries that the US has bombed since WWII - (while I can't verify the whole list, I can certainly recall quite a few since I started following the news in the 1970s - (every continent except North America! - watch out Canada? )
Thinking on that its very surprising that only one outfit has ever bombed back!
Now that its starting, your struggle with Islam will continue until the US adopts a sensible foreign policy - and that probably has to start by resolving Palestinian grievances - but at present you're just stacking up new grievances.
It might take a few years, a few decades, a few generations or many - USA will lose, just as the original Crusaders did - its just a question of when.
