Of course it's a bird...it's has all the anatomical features of a bird.
The longest recorded flight of a chicken is 14 seconds, actually.
And the reason why they don't fly isn't because they're too "fat". Some breeds of chicken are the same size and similar physical structure to a pigeon, but still do not fly. It's an aerodynamics thing.

Chickens CAN fly just not long distances which you'd determine as "flying". A penguin is a bird as is an emu and an ostrich and they dont fly.
Yes a chicken is a bird. Any animal covered with feathers is a bird (penguins do have feathers)

Of course they are birds. They have wings & feathers & beaks etc. They are naturally a ground dwelling bird though, and since human intervention has modified them to become heavy & meaty for our own use, they are even less adapted to flight. They can fly a little, but not very high or very far.
Emus, ostriches, casowaries & kiwis are other examples of birds that have also adapted to life on the ground.

Chicken is a domesticated bird. They can't fly because as you said they are fat and lazy but wild chicken can fly

They are fat birds. There are more birds that can't fly, like ostriches, penguins, turkeys, etc.
