my prents devorced so i see my dad every other weekend. but i didi not see him the last weekend i was with him and i doun't want to go this weekend. but should i go?

If you don't like him and you have a reason not to, I say don't go. You may just be miserable.

Yes he is your dad, unless he abuses you then I would recommend you spend as much time as possible with him. One day he will be gone and you will look back on these times and regret it. My husband is 26 and his dad died 2 weeks ago, he was only 53 so it could happen sooner than you would ever want to imagine. Trust me my husband seen his dad all the time, and still feels regret that he didn't see him enough. Life is too short to hold grudges, or what not. I say enjoy what precious time you two have together you never know what could happen tomorrow!

Beg off. Offer to reschedule.
Say you are going on an outing with the family of a friend.
It would probably be a relief for him.
As much pressure as it is on you, is probably is for him, too.
At some point, you two should talk about these feelings and come to a more mutually agreeable situation rather than what the court mandated.

My younger sis goes through the same thing with her father. She doesnt like visiting him at all because he's just a trifling mess.
If you dont want to visit your dad just call him up and let him know and hopefully he'll understand. If not just do what my mom does for my sis, have her make up a lie saying your sick or something so you wont have to go.

If your dad is a loving dad and is sincere toward you and treats you right then yes you should go because he is trying to have a fatherly relationship with you. On the other hand if you are being abused and neglected then no you should not have to go.
