I agree with you but I think your own question is an example of what you are talking about. You posted a question that pitts 2 users against each other. You have stated on more than 1 occassion that you "want to be like Spazz" when you grow up and how much you like Spazz. The immigration section is not for any of this...this is not a popularity contest here. As to the question you used for an example: C707 gives answers that seem well thought out and based on much knowledge. Her answers rock, to put it plainly.

It's the violators that I am worried about. Unfortunately, If we violated them, they will come back and violate us with their multiple accounts. Worse is they will violate a whole bunch of innocent people as well in an attempt to get to us. That is why I haven't really violated anyone for a very long time. Only 2 in 6 months and I thing the last was 3 months ago. Unfortunately dealing with the immature is difficult. THe thing is that I found two people who stated they don't violate but was angry at people who are blocking them. My question is how do they know they're being blocked as opposed to people setting their account as private.

This is a problem in any open forum that attempts self-policing. Both sides do it.
Most discussion is really not discussion in this or any immigration forum that I have been to.
Someone got perturbed at me on ABC nightline forum in regards to immigration posts and everything I posted and anything related to it were removed by illegal immigrant sympathizers. And I followed the rules. It is hard to track down who is doing the deletions, but from personal remarks you can usually tell. I screamed really loud and nothing happened.
Take it like a trooper and maintain your stances. As long as you don't get your account deleted, you know it is just someone who doesn't like you.
You have to tolerate it because unless you stoop to their level, you really have no choice.
The forum moderators don't care, and the users like to see you sweat. I think this is the same issue as we all face sometimes.

Unfortunately Yahoo seems unable to control its content.
I used to visit troops in Iraq in the Military Chatrooms. Now they're populated by "bots" and porn sites.
There a lot of people that abuse Answers to get their homework done and tests taken for them. A great many others seem to use it as a forum to vent their spleens rather than to ask a question.
There are people who seem to believe that if you put a question mark at the end of a sentence, that qualifies the sentence as a question. "I hate ... ?" is not a question
Now I guess there are Groups that cover just about any topic. People can go there, join those groups, and babble for hours with people who agree with them. Or they can go th Chat Rooms and argue with people who don't.
Unfortunately most people don't seem to know how to debate. They usually start out ok. But after about the third post, they start name-calling. That's the first indication that the name-caller has thrown in the towel. It says, I'm out of facts and figures to support my position. Or they SHOUT by using caps or even large, bold, brightly colored fonts. This means the shouter has lost the debate. Lacking quality of debate, they go for volume.
But, I guess Yahoo doesn't have the time to babysit all their features. I guess that perhaps they rely on the people who use those features to be at least to stand on their hand legs and to have at least a modicum of intellect.

To answer your question, no, I reached my limit of 200 blocked users. I had to weed out the canceled accounts to free up some space to block about 20 more. I recommend you do the same.

People can only ruin what you let them. Ignore the trolls or answer their illogical questions logically. Either way you show that they are having no affect on you and that is the only true way to stop them. After all, they thrive on creating anger and strife.

I agree, the whole idea of this is o discuss things. The TOS thing is to prevent real violations, not to take swipes at people who disagree with you.

I don't think we should classify in which subjects bashing, trolling and stalking is allowed. It should not be allowed under any circumstances nor promoted in any case. Nothing good can come from it.
