I had a vaginal delivery Tuesday morning and tore just a bit. Now that I'm home, I've noticed normal swelling, but with the swelling, I am now bleeding a teeny tiny bit from my stitches. It's not bad- like not dripping or anything, it just seems like when I wipe, a little bit of blood "seeps" out. I never have anything on my pad (where that area would touch), so I think it is just from spreading my legs when I go to wipe, etc. Have those of you that have had episiotomies/tears experienced bleeding from stitches, and is that normal? Thanks!

Absolutely! Sorry you had to have stitches! They're a pain in the you know what-literally. Try using some dermoplast spray (it's an antiseptic/anesthetic) or Tucks pads on where your stitches are. Also, to irrigate them, and avoid less blood where you tore, use your Peri Bottle every time you pee! Good luck! Congrats on the little one!

I was told no wiping with toliet paper for 2 wks after i got out of the hospital. I was told to use a spray bottle and clean with warm water and i could use tucks pad to help with swelling. I was told that wiping could irritate the stitches and the TP could stick to the stitches.
