Im not here to Offend anyone, Please understand.

In Many true cases people have moved into a house and it seems as if the house is haunted and it freightens the people, they see strange things and don't know why.

In one case, there was this Man and woman who lived in this house, the Woman was Witch and the man wasn't. She wasn't an evil witch but a good person, The man had two children (boys) by another woman who became a Christian and one night the Children spent the night with their Father and while the children were in bed, they saw what they described as really scary faces on the ceiling, the oldest of the two started to pray from what he remembered how to and the faces went away. Turns out that this was due to the witch in the house. she didn't cast a spell on the kids but she invited evil spirits in by her life style. The lady was a good witch but in general was a witch, thus inviting in evil spirits.

Whats your opinion on this?

It sounds like a poor attempt at revising the legend of John Bell, and the Bell Witch. Christians have more ghost stories, and posessions than Carter has liver pills. I do not know where they get their stories. I am Wiccan, and do not have one spirit in my house, but yet my Christian friends do, they have poltergeist, and evil spirits...In a Christian's mind it sure seems as if "Satan" loves to harass Christians. I wonder why that is?

Only a bad practitioner *purposely* invites bad spirits-- and a good one invites good spirits. She may have not been well-trained...if you call on just anything without specifics, who knows what will show up?

I am Agnostic, but I do deal with some Pagan things. For me, dealing with spirits is like reaching out in a black room to infinate hands. If you don't know what hands you're looking for, you might end up with anyone to work with. If you're careful and you know what you're doing, then you know exactly what the hands feel like and you know exactly what force you're using for your work.

So that woman may have just not been that careful, or the kids might have just seen a friendly spirit and thought it was evil. When I was a kid-- I would run from *any* spirit. I didn't know how to tell good from bad. Now I'm older-- I know that the one with long black hair, covered in piercings, and with hooks in his back is not a bad creature (despite the looks) and the one that appeared as a man in a fluffy pink rabbit suit when I was a kid is indeed a "bad guy". My Lukaeleroh appears VERY scary and someone who doesn't know him would run. He even startles me sometimes-- but he does not cause any harm and he isn't "evil".

Also, if a spirit disappears when someone gets scared of it...well, they used to be people. Some have common sense to realize that we get afraid, and they shouldn't scare us.

So it depends if they really were "evil" (in my work there is no simple good and evil, everything has shades of grey-- just like the human race) and how much training the witch had, and why they disappeared. You can't really say what is good and evil.

Dengue_Fever-- The Necronomicon is a piece of fiction invented by H.P. Lovecraft and copied by a *lot* of writers. It was a plot device, nothing more. Sam Raimi made it popular with the movie Evil Dead. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

It was a set up by the Christian Ex-wife. Common sense would tell anyone that there would be no reason for any faces to show up for anything a Witch might do. It smacks of the kind of situation that the people tried as Witches found themselves in in the 16th century. If they were there at all it is because the Christian Mother wanted them to because of jealousy.......

However, the above is moot, becaused I touched you and you made the question, to use an old saying, out of whole cloth, for kicks and out of being a Christian that hates all outside their sect.

An aside: Did you really take it?

First of all lets clear up a common misconception a male person is called a witch , the same as a female is, to call someone a warlock is offensive as the term refers to someone who has been cast out as they would have been believed to be an oathbreaker. Secondly spirits can haunt a house, property or land for centuries nothing to do with who currently is or was there. Spirits who haunt are usually ones who are in limbo,if you want them gone get the help of a medium. People use the term witch for anything that seems scary to them without actually knowing anything about witches, people burned them at the stake because of their abilities, that they used mostly to help people, peoples ignorance of the situation has lead to many misconceptions over the years. Do witches still exist? Yes they do, they are not all evil. Evil is a Christian belief the same as the devil hell etc, witches do not believe in this concept.

You have explained that their mother is a newly converted Christian and new Christians often discuss nearly all aspects of their lives with other more experienced Christians.

It is entirely possible that the children, hearing the woman's practices spoken of, in what was very likely a very negative light by their mother or her mentors, became frightened with the thought of being in the same house with her. Children are highly suggestible. The fear that they might have learned from their mother or her Christian friends is probably what is responsible for what they saw.

I was brought up in a very conservative Christian church and if I had been taken to live in or even visit a house with someone who was known to be a Witch I would have been terrified by just walking through the front door, much less sleeping there!

Have you asked this person what her practices are? Do you know for a fact that she deals with summoning spirits at all? Not all Witches do this. And of those that do, they are very careful to protect their families, and their homes.

I was told this story too, that the very fact that someone is in any way involved in the "occult" or new-agey things is enough to allow demons and evil spirits to threaten they and their families. Something I still struggle with, because of those teachings I was afraid to deal with ANY kind of spirituality, including Christianity.

Its worth noting that Christians without any sort of occult involvement have seen negative spirits too. In fact there is a method for dealing with spirits in the Bible.

If you are really concerned and not simply looking for reasons to condemn this woman or anyone who is involved in Witchcraft, then simply discuss with her what she does and what she believes. She may be perfectly willing to have a minister bless the home or have prayers said there if it will settle the children's fears. And she may also explain very carefully what she does so that it no longer scares them.

Edit:

Also, has it occured to anyone that the negativity in the situation has more to do with jealousy than any sort of Witchcraft?? Maybe the children were exposed to some pretty wicked rants about their dad's new significant other.

Edit, again:

You really should calm down. I answered your question with only the information YOU gave as a guide. It is perfectly reasonable to question whether or not the bad feelings that the children feel while with their father have more to do with the fact that their parents are no longer together and things that they MIGHT have overheard from their mother or her friends and fellow Christians.

Would it not be reasonable to think that they would speak negatively about her ex's new girlfriend, particularly given the way most Christians are taught to feel about people who practice Pagan faiths?

This is ALL a big guessing game for those choosing to answer your question. If you wanted opinions from only those that knew EVERYTHING about this situation you should have thought twice about posting a question here concerning it, or been prepared to offer whatever information needed to answer the question in a manner acceptable to you.

My opinion is simple... Anyone can invite evil spirits into a house. Christians too. So there is no way to know that the witch is responsible for it. Her lifestyle has nothing to do with it. Could just be that those particular evil spirits have something against two faced Christians.

Oh and I love how you started out by saying that you didn't mean any offense.

GOD BLESS YOU and your ignorance.

And how did they find out that it was the Witch's Lifestyle that let the Evil spirits in and Not the Christians lifestyle?

Because in case you Didn't know, almost All reportings of "Haunted houses" are by Christians, did you ever think that maybe being a christian or being close to a christian makes you open to evil?

I just want to state that a title of Witch applies to both sexes.
Warlock means a traitor.

The story does seem like a urban legend. Sometimes light can play tricks on us... even as an adult when you drive at night bushes/ trees on the side of road might seem spooky.

In any case... if there is a problem with the place, Priest/ess could do the detailed cleansing.
Or just call for a Christian priest to bless the home. Holly water sprinkled around doors/ windows/ openings & prayer if one choses to do it this way may solve any problems. Make sure whoever is trying to cleanse/ bless/ protect the home knows what they're doing.

Did any adults notice any changes at all?

My opinion on that is that is complete BS. Just because someone is a witch does not mean that they automatically envite evil into there lives. People do not understand Wiccan or Pagen practices and make to many assumptions. Talk to some people who practice the faith. Look it up on the internet. Inform yourself before you assume things.

Witchcraft can let in evil spirits if it is done incorrectly. If people practice witchcraft then they should really get guidance from other people who know what they are doing. Dabbling in it isn't a good idea and if people really want to practice then they need to do a lot of research rather than just liking the look or mysticism behind it. There are a lot of different types of rituals and although some are good and some bad they can go wrong if you make a mistake or have a lack of protection when you do them.
