There are some people that will not be happy even if you gave them 100% of everything you earned.
She needs to get her own finances in order. What is draining her money? Does she have a gambling habit? What is going on? You need to find that out.
What you can do is give her a gift card for a grocery store so she can have groceries. DON'T GIVE HER CASH.

I have a friend who found out that her mother-in-law was going into the seediest parts of town and losing all her Social Security check on the one-armed bandits. She wasn't paying bills or buying groceries, and she ran through all her savings and racked up a bunch of credit cards. The answer was to put a limit on what she had access to. Locked her out of her accounts, and quit giving her money for bills, but instead gave her gift cards for groceries.

Did you borrow money from her and not pay it back on time? Or is this a case of she raised you for 18 years and now you need to pay her back. If you owe her, then pay here as much as possible even if its 5 bucks. However if she is throwing up the fact that she foot the bill for you for 18 years and now its your turn to help her, let her know that when a person has a child-the whole purposes is to raise them up so that they can take care of themselves and that at this point in time, you can only do just that. If later on you have extra and she NEEDS it, not for bingo or her hair, but say a legit bill, electric, house payment then maybe help her. But let her know your family has to come first, and that until their needs are met, you can't help her.

I hear ya'......hon, money makes people nuts! And some families are helpful and understanding from the get go, and others have issues. They want to help, freely, because your trying and something happens and you need the help. But then there are the others that you either have to BEG them, and/or if they do help, they hang it over your head like your garbage.....Families are weird when it comes to money. I have a grandmother who is so rich it isn't even funny. Who does she do for? The two grandchildren who don't need a thing!! Their father owns the medical center!! My sister raised two kids practically on the streets, (rolling my eyes), it is a shame people are the way they are......Pay her back as soon as possible and NEVER ask her for another thing!!!!!!!!

Parents are supposed to raise their children to be self supporting. Unless there is some emergency mom needs to take care of her own needs.

Just tell her you can't afford to pay for her life. She needs to step up and take care of herself, just like she taught you when she was raising you. Good luck.
