I have been going through times of testing and I know we all do.
My problem is that I tend to focus on the needs I have now and worry and stress over them when everytime in the past God has ALWAYS been faithful to provide.
What are godly ways to not fret so much and what are realistic godly ways to just be in the now?
Is it normal to feel anxoius at times even though I love the Lord?

It's great to hear you acknowledge that God has always taken good care of you! Each time He gives you fresh proof of His providence, you'll be less anxious the next time. Just this week I was all tensed up about some items I need for school. Well, I prayed to God to give me the things **if** it was His gracious will to do so, but above all, to let His will be done--and guess what? Two days later I had everything I needed.

When we make our requests to Him, I believe it's very important always to do so in the spirit of loving submission and obedience to His will. As we see in Matthew 6:33-34,
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." And as Jesus Himself said in Luke 22:42, just before His arrest: "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done."

I like to keep the phrase "God Will Provide" always in my mind. It's always true, and even more so when we do our best to put His will before our own. God bless you!

God does NOT demand that we not fret over stuff, he gives us a gentle reminder that we should not..... We all fret and worry and get discouraged and even depressed, and we all KNOW from where that comes, and it is NOT from God.... So, I suggest this: when times get really tough, and it seems to never have an end, or you can not see the light at the end of the tunnel, go to a quiet place, no phones, no TVs , no out side influences and just sit..... Worship God, do NOT ask him to fix or change or multiply, etc.... just simply Praise Him for all he HAS done, who he IS, and for what he is going to DO........ it may start out slow and awkward but just keep going through the fire, it will subside and you WILL break through , and you will start to feel the Holy Spirit surround you like a soft blanket...... Go in peace...... God bless

It is very normal to feel that way. As Christians we strive to be more Christ like. That doesn't keep us from being human. As people we know that the bills are due NOW, the kids need clothes NOW, etc. So, it's only normal to feel a little anxious when you have the reality of life staring you in the face. The way I deal with it is too try and balance out the anxiousness with thankfulness. While I'm trying not to worry and have faith in the Lord, I just thank him for all that he has already provided. It makes it a little easier to trust that his provisions will continue. Hope this helps!

Jesus WAS God and yet was tempted by the devil. When this happened, he always warded off that temptation with the Word of God.

If He was God and needed to recite scripture in order to keep worry and concern from him, so do we!

Spend some time looking up scriptures about God's care and provision, then commit yourself to reciting them whenever you feel tempted to worry instead of trusting God.

Here is my favorite: Joshua 1:9
" Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Check to see if you like any of these. You can spend forever looking up the promises of God and taking them into your heart.
Isaiah 40:31
Psalm 73:26
Proverbs 4:25-27
Deuteronomy 8:18
Deuteronomy 31:8
Hebrews 13:5
Psalms 71:5
Psalm 143:8
Psalm 73:24

And yes, it's normal to "feel" all kinds of things that do not reflect trust, because we are still human. But we who are children of the light do not live by feelings - we live by faith. And when our feelings overtake our faith, we reign them back in with the truth of God's Word.

Proverbs 3:5 - 7 says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil."

After reading that, read Psalms 46, 37, and then finally 23 (In that order). Please remember that the mind is Satan's largest battlefield only if you allow him to use it. I can also suggest the book, "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer. Also, read 2 Corinthians 10:4 - 5. Let me know if that helps you! God bless you and keep you always!

Wow, this was me like two days ago. I always worry and have questions about my future too. But in the end I just thought how God created us and this Earth because He loves us. He wants us to be happy, not being stressed laying in bed up all night. Be blessed, know that youre loved, and know that God has always had your back, and always will. Much love to ya.

This has happened to me too.
Sometimes at night i feel anxiety...
I pray with all of my heart and have faith, Thats how my worries go away.
I don't know exactly where but in the bible it talks about having anxiety and thats bad for a person.
It says it takes away your confidence and creativity or something like that!

In addition to studying God's word and prayer, this helped me through a couple of rough patches.

Think about what you were worrying about this time last week, last month, last year, 5 years ago.......how many of those things occured as you imagined? How many of them took care of themselves? How many had lasting consquences? Did you get through all of them? Now that you've looked back and see that you did, indeed get through them, were they worth the time you spent worrying about them?

Of course it's normal. We're all humans, aren't we? During those times, pray and get closer to God. Relax and try to find a solution to your problems. Spend time around a positive environment and you should feel better.

Friend,

I suppose I go through similar things... it is difficult, when being faced with a problem that is happening RIGHT NOW, to recall how God has never left or forsaken us in times past...

There are a number of solutions or helps.
...If you have close Christian friends, talking with them for encouragement can be good.
...Prayer is crucial. I find that praying for others takes my mind off of what I'm going through and opens my heart/mind to the reality that God is in control of everything and will see it through to its proper end.
...Thanksgiving is always appropriate.
...Reading the Bible is good, since it can bring things to mind that you may have missed or ignored in your time of stress.
...Journaling also comes to mind. If you, today, write down your struggles, and tomorrow (so to speak) when you are feeling down and 'out of it', review the reality that God has brought you though those tough times, it can bring comfort.

Remember that you ultimately depend on God to take care of you.

I suppose it is normal to experience all sorts of feelings. We are human beings. God knows us and can comfort and provide for us. But He does not want us to worry, for it distracts us. Remember what God has done for you and give thanks to Him.

It's easier to advise others than take advice... please pray for me as well. Thanks.

May God bless you.
