Yes, it takes about 30 days minimum for birth control to work effectively. I usually used a condom even after the first month, for about a week just to be safe (and that's with my husband, not unprotected with just a bf.) I'd recommend using a condom either way, but if it's a monogamous relationship, you are safe after a month.

Yes, you should always wait at least a month when you start using the pill before it actually starts working for sure. Therefore for the time being you should use a different method also, like condoms etc. and make sure you always take the pill everyday around the same time for it to be very effective.

sometime birth control dont help if it is ment to be it will be .i had my tubes tighted and 7 years later i got pregnant.so look out.
