This puppy is beautiful. She has ears like the long-coated chihuahua, but has the other characteristics of the maltese. She was black with a white around her eyes like a racoon, when she was born, but has since changed her color to white with black fringes. She has maltese eyes. I've been told they now call mixed breeds "hybrids".

A mixed breed just like any other mixed breed. The only dogs they call hybrids are wolf hybrids because it is a mix of a domestic and non-domestic animal. Please get the dogs spayed and neutered before you brind another genetically disabled dog into this world. There are too many dogs out there with medical problems because of mixed breeding and not enough people to care for them or acknowledge these problems.

Nah, actually the dog is a mutt.. There is no such thing as a hybrid.. It's a fancy backyard breeder term for mutt, not eligible for registration.. Accidental breeding of two breeds that shouldn't have been bred together.. Chihuahua + Maltese = Mutt Sorry...

She's a Chihuahua/Maltese mix. These so-called "hybrids" or "designer dogs" get a fancy name put onto them by irresponsible backyard breeders and puppy mills to sell them for more money than they should be sold for.

She is most likely beautiful, but she is still a mutt, a mixed breed. The name often attached to them is a MALTICHI. I own 2 mutts myself and love them completely, but they are mutts. I could call them HEELADORS, because they are blue Heeler/Labrador mux. I rescued both of them.

you can call her a hybrid, a designer dog, a chaltese, or whatever you want. it's only to make you feel better about having a mixed breed. glad she's beautiful. have her spayed and keep her as pretty as she is now. mammary tumors and dying from pregnancy complications are not attractive. i'm glad you found a wonderful pup. it's sad though that the person who bred her didn't worry so much about the parent's well being. what you have is a very cute mutt. enjoy, they're the best "breed" around.

i would love to see a picture. Thats a rare dog. It doesnt have a name because the two dogs shouldn't have had babys together because its a good chance the puppies would come out different looking maybe with deformities but i guess you just got lucky.

Well...there;s no fancy word for this type of dog...it's a mutt. You could call it a chihuahua mix or a maltese mix, or a maltese-chihuahua mix if you don't like mutt. Some people name mixed breeds ......like this type of mix could be called a "Malti-chu"

mixed breeds are called MUTTS...

(hybrids are like a cross between a dog and a wolf.. or a horse and a donkey...)

this is a mutt - all dogs without registration papers are mutts.. often people are suckered into paying too much money for these dogs becuase they are given fancy names.. but they are mutts.. consider this - if either parent were of good quality they would be breeding purebreds...

I am sure she is cute - but she should be spayed because she is not anything more than a mutt....(bred to make some idiot money)
