As much as people in the US complain that "Big Business" owns and runs everything here, it's much more of a reality in Mexico. Mexico is made up of the "haves" and the "have-nots". They have needed some sort of internal revolution for about a hundred years to get things straightened out.
Here's the problem though: The "haves" like the way things are..... They say "Your poor grandfather worked for my rich grandfather. Your poor dad worked for my rich dad. Now you do slave labor for me..... What's there to fix?" A few of the "have-nots" have the strength and energy to stage a revolution - they are tired of being "have-nots". By keeping the borders porous, the government ensures that these young, potential revolutionaries find an easier way to get money than actually changing the status quo in Mexico. And the whole time that the government is taking advantage of the underclass, keeping the elitists in power, they lie to the poor, telling them that they want to keep the borders open "because we love you and want you to have this opportunity." The really sad part is that the Mexican government wants specifically for everything to stay the same - the 20 million illegals here to stay here AND NOT GET LEGAL STATUS. If they get legal status, their families can come, establish roots here AND NOT SEND MONEY TO MEXICO!!!!!
It's really not unlike the welfare system in the USA. The Democrats tell the poor that "we love you and want to take care of you." When really, all they do by the welfare system is maintain a system to keep poor people from rising up, getting educated, getting good jobs and actually spreading the wealth around. Food stamps, section 8 housing - it's all just the plantation owner promising to get the shed a new paint job and give the slaves a shiny new pot to cook in if they'll just stop threatening to leave the plantation. It keeps the status quo and keeps the polititians in their position of power.

No, the US Constitution does not allow a state to leave the US. That was the original reason for the Civil War. Slavery only became an issue after the war started. Arizona wasn't a state until 1912, so they really weren't involved in the Civil War. I don't recall any fighting in California, which extends to the north quite a distance. If Mexico is supporting illegal immigration into the US, it is to relieve their staggering economy. NAFTA has cost Mexico many jobs. What you are describing would be an act of war against the US. I don't think Mexico wants to fight the US in a land war, a naval war or a nuclear war.

us mexicans tried talking to our government but they wont listen. thats why we are here and we love the US unlike some people... but anyway, thats also the reason why I am not proud of being mexican, if I had a good reason to be then I wouldnt be here. yeah it sucks that things are this way. however the bigger problem is that we have too many kids and all cause of who else? the catholic church, well mostly us for listening to it. I know what you mean and yeah it sucks, but theres not much I can do. and if I speak badly about my nationality, theyll just say that I am white and that Im not really mexican.

Where I live, you can go to Wal-Mart on a Sunday night and get a bus load of illegal mexicans. I still haven't figured out why they haven't done that. The mexican government is crooked as day is long.

most of the illegal immigrants that are here also support families back in mexico. (good sons and daughters) why would the mexican government argue against receiving such huge amounts of money for no effort?
dude, follow the money....
if mexico had to pay $$ for each illegal person returned, we'd probably see mexican border patrols who shoot to kill...

If the Mexican government had the funds to stop illegal immigration, no one would want to leave for America. As it is, *we* do not seem to have the funds to stop illegal immigration. To the best of my knowledge, the Mexican government is entirely supportive of our efforts to stop illegal immigration. The question is: should we spend money on trying to stop it *here*, or *there*? I vote for here.

Its not the mexican government. Its ours. Do you think they care if their people leave their country. Their government no longer has to support them if they even do at all. Basically it comes down to "It's not my problem anymore" Good luck GWB.
