It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk world war.
Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).
The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.
Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.
Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

Nobody can tell or predict future events. Only God and no one else knows the future. The Third World War might be here tomorrow or it may come after 1,000 years, who knows?. But I'm sure that there would continue to be tumultuous conflicts between 2020-2070, although I cannot say if they are supposed to be part of a Third World War. No one also knows if there would be a Fourth or a Fifth World Wars.

WW III won't happen in the near future. The U.S. military is to strong for that to happen.
But, maybe sometime in the 2050's-2060's. China will be an Economic Super-Power and a growing Military power.
It could be:
The U.S., Britain, South Korea, and other NATO forces against....
China, Russia, Iran, and N. Korea.
And that's if worst comes to worst. It is very hard to predict the outcome of such an event. But, in all likely hood, Western countries will still be the premier technology hub of the world. Better technology will lead to better weaponry and would probably give NATO the advantage.
That is to say, if no Nuclear Weapons are used. . . .then nobody wins. Russia would destroy NATO, and the U.S. would destroy Russia and China. No winner.
As for the cause, I would say a battle for resources. China is already consuming large amounts of resources, and in the future will try to lay claim to the North Pole, and the South pole. (area's where untouched resources lay). They may also lay claim to the oil in the Middle-East. The U.S., of course, would reject the claims, and fighting would break out. Iran sides with China, because they don't want the U.S. touching it's oil, and Russia sides with China to take the U.S. down. The North Korean's invade the south, since the U.S. would be weakend at the time. Iran attacks Isreal to get revenge. And, Britian and other NATO forces side with America.

eventually.. we'll have another world war... surprisingly enough we've lasted this long since ww2. I'm just waiting for it to start up any day now... But if it does... i'm getting pregnant and getting the heck out of the army! My husband wouldnt have a choice.. he'd have to stay in.. but i'm not going there if i dont have to! Especially if my husband and i have kids by then! Not going to give my children the chance to be orphins by losing both their parents in war. And as for who would be fighting who.. It'd probablly be very similar to ww1 and ww2, except a few countries switched around. Like germany would be our allies instead of against us.. and i highly doubt they'd start it.. again! And ww3 is not here. We're fighting terrorism.. not a country. if we ever declare war on a country.. then ww3 has starded.. and that would be ALL over CNN and you'd know it. Plus we dont need to fight a country right now.. just a group of people that want every single american dead. A lot of peope want us to pull out of the middle east... but i dont think they realize that those people we fight every day want them dead too, just because they dont have the same religious beliefs. if most of the people against the war knew that.. i think maybe they'd change their mind a little bit.

it is so dull observing glory searching followers argue over which team that they have under no circumstances even been to is extra suited than the different. there are maximum of astonishing 4 supporters at here you will think of there have been basically 4 communities in England. very few of them have any connection to the team they help. i individually desire Everton win the cup, whether the Chelsea glory hunters might say it did no longer rely, ignoring the shown fact that its the oldest club opposition interior the international. I hate them plenty. i think of it's going to be complicated so you might win yet truthfully attainable. I desperately desire you win.
