Martial Arts are not for a specific size of person . there are however styles that suit certain people more than others. "killer death moves" are not given without the person having knowledge and ability to be responsible enough to not abuse them. As to your friend with chronic fatigue, I would say that he should consult a physician! Training in the Martial Arts will in fact Raise your energy level, Not deplete it(if training properly) The friend of yours that doesn't LIKE the Gi or Do Bak, Tell him to get over it! Not only is the uniform a requirement, but also is a part of the tradition of where and what the Martil Arts are about(The samarai wore the uniform under thier armor) (the color of white for purity of course) As for yourself, don't LEECH, rather go and find a school and practice and train and depend on YOURSELF. No one can give you what they have if fact earned themselves...Sandan Doc Killian

Fitness in any martial will improve your effectiveness. As you continue to train fatigue should become less of an issue.

However, as one poster, suggested. Medical advice and caution should be used before pursuing any intense activity. Anytime you are going to have defend yourself, it's going to intense.

That being said, Aikido might be one to check out as well as there as there are very few, if any, strike or kicks from what I've see.. I do Goju-Ryu karate and I've found many classmates of various initial fitness levels adapt quite nicely.

Find a good school, not a good style. Never sign a contract and never pay for rank testing.Observe/take free classes. Ask to see their contact drills and kumite. Look for direct lineage to the founder of the art.

The quality and frequency of training will far outweigh the style.

ha ... thats tricky .... maybe kickboxing , or jiu jitsu , and maybe kravmaga .... if your looking for sum death moves n $h1t , kravmaga is the officail martial art of the isrealy army , and that $h1t aint no joke , its not as flash as alot of other martial arts , but its probabbly the most savage art of combat ive come across , it combines brutal stand up game with krazy take downs and chokes n wut not .... also it teaches your defence agains weapons and how to use em
