I have been searching for a job for months, and now I have one, I can't seem to stop being nervous about what my first day will be like. I just think that I am going to mess up or not know the industry enough. I am a recent college graduate and there is no formal training for the position. It just seems like its going to be very stressful but its a great opportunity. How can I get over this worry. What are some methods or ways I can prepare for this career change. Its in advertising btw...

I once embellished my resume to get a job at a software company. I told them that I knew all about computers and software and then they hired me. Here's the funny part; on my first day I didn't even know how to turn on a Apple computer. I got all nervous thinking that somebody was going to confront me about this. But, nobody even said anything. They just showed me how to turn it on. I ended up working there for a year. Just remember, most people don't want to go through the trouble of interviewing a million people. You are there and you are ready to learn. They'll show you whatever you need to know even if you said you already knew how to do it.

Well, you should consider that all this worry doesn't help. Remember that people will find you interesting if you show interest in them, to be honest, pay careful attention, don't be afraid to take notes and act like you care about the job. Just think about the character in the book and movie Catch Me If You Can, true story. Frank Abagnail or whatever his name is. That guy just walked into jobs and acted like he belonged, even as a doctor! Remember that you have made it this far, you are a college grad and you can do this!

Don't worry they know enough from your interview to know what to expect from you. My first job after college my first day was spent reading the company manual. I was scared I had never used a calculator, they still cost hundreds back then so only businesses had them.
Turned out they had once had a new person go to lunch on the first day and not come back so they didn't have anyone do anything the first day.
My first day on my new job I got a tour of the shipyard, introduced to everyone and saw all the shops even toured one vessel.
Your job on your first day is to find your desk, find the restroom, learn 2 people's names and when lunch and quiting time are.
