Ok so i was wondering why i always have this reaction to foods frying in my house. My eyes water and sting hours after my mom fries something. Like tonight she fried fish and french fries about 5 hours ago and just now my eyes began to burn and water and it always and usually only happens when food is fried in my house but hours after she cooks, What is causing this and how can i prevent it?

You know, I think it's got nothing to do with allergy, my husband also gets like that sometimes when I fry food. I noticed that when the oil is too hot and there are like alot of vapors all over the kitchen, he gets this reaction, and yes, it does happen hours after I finish frying, probably by the time all the vapors are dissipated in the apartment. Ask your mother not to heat the oil too much and to open the window or turn the fan on or something. Hope this helps!

My guess is that you have an intolerance of the oil that is used. You probably eventualy get the oil on your hands which you use to rubyour eyes. This would explain whyit takes a while to affect you.

See if your mom will try a different kind of oil the next timeshe fries something and see if that makes a difference. Also, as it has already been mentioned, it is best to reduce the amount of fried food you eat.

I don't have a clue but have starred your question so I can come back and see any theories. I used to get tired when my mum cooked but it was from the propane, clean burning gas my foot. switched to electric then all ok.

EDIT EDIT ADD FOLLOWING:
I had an idea, could it be this: Frying food, especially fish can smell up the house. Many air fresheners then could be used. Air fresheners, especially those ones you plug into an outlet can irritate the eyes.

I had used the plug in types for a while and although I think it took longer than five hours they definitely irritated my eyes. When I checked the label, sure enough,"caution may irritate eyes:.

Just a thought that came to me last night

sounds like an allergic reaction. go do some test at the doctors to find out more. or ask your mum to bake the food instead of frying. it's also healthier.
