Wish I could help but I want to give you credit for keeping a 1996 Aspire alive! They must be rare! :)

a sturdy locksmith could have the skill to 'faucet' (decode from the tumblers interior and cut back) a key from the present ignition lock. The VIN key code database became into purely commencing up at Ford in 1990 so calling the broker is out of the question. It expenses approximately 75 greenbacks for the housecall yet is plenty extra inexpensive and safer than having somebody tear up your guidance column.

Can't understand why everyone comes on Y/A asking for parts prices instead of picking up the phone and calling the nearest auto parts store.
