im gonna buy an audi at a dealer and im using my dads insurcance does he have to sign the papers for the car since its going on his insurance or can i?im am doing a dealer finance

If you are getting a loan for the car, the dealership will have to call the insurance company to verify that you have full coverage insurance. If you are listed as a driver on your Dad's policy, then you are fine, he doesn't have to do anything. Good luck with your new car!

I don't think he has to sign the papers (unless he's co-signing), but he DOES have to notify his insurance company that he's not the owner of this car, and the FINANCE company might not like that idea. If you can't afford to carry your own insurance, independent from your dad, you shouldn't be buying this car.

Any financed deal requires the car be insured. They'll need a signature from your Dad. Otherwise it's like you'd be saying, "Ya, that guy over there is gonna insure it for me." Again, the answer is YES.

you might have to show an insurance card with your name on it, which your dad could get, or just tell them the name of the insurance company you will be using and that you are on your dad's policy. you might need to get that set up ahead of time.
