When I went to Universal Studios, I did the movie studio thing and I was it was extremely fun. I am thinking about doing a more in depth one, but I don't know which movie studio to go to. Does anyone have any recommendations or any studios to stay away from? Only studios within the LA area please. Thank you!

The WB Studio Tour is probably your best bet. Yes, you get to walk around the sets. You really just have a great time.

If you wanna go cheaper, you can take a tour of the NBC Studios right down the street, and that's also cool, too.

Some of the studios like Warner Bros. and MGM have free tickets to be in the studio audiences of sitcoms they are currently filming. I wish I knew the number to call, but you do have to drive down to those studios and pick up the tickets in person. I think the tickets to "The Tonight Show" at the CBS Studios are free but you have to reserve them in advance. If you look up those studios in the phone book or online, try to get the number to call for the ticket office. Sitting in a studio audience is a great way to see what happens behind-the-scenes of a television production.

In January, I was visiting LA, and I went to go see Sony Studios and I was very impressed with what I saw. You get to see where they tape Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Sony Studios is between Washington and Culver.

The Warner Brothers tour was on foot, and we were allowed to walk through the sets (it was a week end).
